Product Overview

The Tihebeyan CS-106 is a versatile portable radio capable of receiving FM, AM, Shortwave (SW), Longwave (LW), and TV sound frequencies. It features an LCD display, alarm clock functionality, and memory for storing your favorite stations.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the radio (refer to Figure 3).
  2. Slide the battery compartment cover downwards to open it.
  3. Insert two (2) AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Caution: Do not mix new and old batteries, or different types of batteries.

2. Powering the Radio

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

2. Band Selection (FM/AM/SW/LW/TV Sound)

Press the corresponding band buttons (FM, MW, SW) on the front panel to switch between frequency bands. The display will show the currently selected band.

3. Tuning

The radio supports both manual and automatic tuning.

4. Saving and Recalling Stations

The radio can store up to 60 stations (20 each for FM, MW, and SW).

5. Volume Control

Use the 'VOLUME' up/down arrow buttons to adjust the sound level.

6. Stereo Mode (FM Only)

To activate FM stereo mode:

  1. Ensure you are in FM mode and plug in earphones (refer to Figure 4).
  2. Press and hold the 'MEMORY' button for approximately 2 seconds. The word "STEREO" will appear on the display.

To deactivate stereo mode, press and hold the 'MEMORY' button again, or unplug the earphones.

7. Clock and Alarm Function

The radio includes a clock and alarm function. Refer to the 'TIME', 'HOUR', and 'MINUTE' buttons on the front panel to set the time and alarm. Detailed instructions for setting the alarm are typically found in the quick start guide included with the product.

8. Mute Function

Press the 'MUTE' button to temporarily silence the radio. Press it again to restore sound.

9. Lock Function

Press the 'LOCK' button to prevent accidental button presses. The display will show a lock icon. Press it again to unlock.

Maintenance

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Radio does not power on.Batteries are dead or incorrectly installed. External power not connected or faulty. ON/OFF switch is off.Check battery polarity and replace if necessary. Ensure Micro USB cable is securely connected to a working power source. Slide ON/OFF switch to 'ON'.
Poor reception or static.Antenna not extended. Weak signal. Interference from other electronic devices.Fully extend the telescopic antenna. Try repositioning the radio. Move away from other electronics. For AM/LW, rotate the radio for best signal.
