Setup Instructions

1. Unpacking

Carefully remove the clock from its packaging. Inspect for any damage. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage.

3. Setting the Time

After installing the battery, gently turn the minute hand clockwise to set the correct time. Do not turn the hour hand directly. Allow the clock to chime through each hour if setting past 12 o'clock to synchronize the chime with the time.

4. Pendulum Installation

Carefully hang the pendulum onto the hook located inside the clock case. Ensure it swings freely without obstruction.

5. Mounting the Clock

This clock is designed for wall mounting. Use a sturdy screw or hook securely fastened into a wall stud or appropriate anchor. Hang the clock using the hanging slot on the back. Ensure the clock is level for accurate timekeeping and pendulum swing.

Operating Instructions

1. Chime Selection

Your clock offers two chime melodies: Westminster and Whittington. A selector switch, usually located on the side or back of the clock, allows you to choose your preferred chime. Refer to the markings near the switch for selection.

2. Volume Control

Adjust the chime volume using the volume control knob or slider, typically found near the chime selector. Turn or slide it to increase or decrease the sound level to your preference.

3. Automatic Chime Silencer

The clock features an automatic chime silencer that deactivates the chime between 11:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. This function operates automatically based on the set time and does not require manual adjustment.

4. Hourly Strikes

In addition to quarter-hour chimes, the clock will strike the hour following the hourly chime, indicating the current hour count.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

To clean the clock case, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. For the dial and glass, use a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the finish.

2. Battery Replacement

Replace the battery annually or when the clock begins to lose time or the chime weakens. Always use a fresh 'C' size alkaline battery. Remove old batteries promptly to prevent leakage.

3. General Care

  • Avoid exposing the clock to direct sunlight or extreme temperature changes.
  • Keep the clock away from high humidity areas.
  • Do not attempt to lubricate any part of the clock mechanism.
