3. Seat Operation

3.1. Swivel Function

The seat is equipped with a swivel mechanism to facilitate easier entry and exit from the scooter. To swivel the seat, locate the lever typically found on the side or front underside of the seat (as shown in Figure 1). Pull or push the lever to unlock the swivel, rotate the seat to the desired position, and release the lever to lock it in place.

3.2. Armrest Adjustment

The armrests can be adjusted for comfort. They can typically be flipped up for easier access or adjusted for width. Consult your scooter's specific manual for detailed armrest adjustment procedures, as this seat assembly is designed to integrate with standard scooter armrest mounts.

4. Care and Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the vinyl covers with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the vinyl.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all nuts and bolts for tightness. Ensure the seat frame is free from cracks or damage.
  • Storage: If storing the scooter or seat for an extended period, keep it in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight to prevent material degradation.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1. Seat Does Not Fit Scooter Post

  • Verify Post Diameter: The AlveyTech seat assembly is designed for a 1-inch (26 mm) seat post diameter. Measure your scooter's seat post to confirm compatibility. If the diameters do not match, the seat may not be compatible with your specific scooter model.
  • Obstructions: Check for any debris or obstructions in the scooter's seat post receiver or on the seat's mounting post that might prevent proper seating.

5.2. Seat Feels Loose or Wobbly

  • Tighten Nuts: Ensure all 12 Nylock nuts used to assemble the seat back, base, and frame are securely tightened.
  • Scooter Locking Mechanism: Confirm that your scooter's seat locking mechanism (if present) is fully engaged.
  • Inspect Seat Post: Check the scooter's seat post and the seat's mounting post for any signs of wear or damage that could affect stability.
