1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, setup, operation, and maintenance of your NEO Z-Wave Plus Smart Light Switch. This intelligent device allows for remote control through a Z-Wave network and radio waves, integrating seamlessly into your smart home system. It requires a Z-Wave gateway controller to function.

The switch features two touch buttons, each capable of controlling an independent relay to turn devices on or off. Each gang supports a maximum of 16A. You can set timers for automated lighting and control the switch remotely.

2. Safety Information

4. Installation

Before beginning installation, ensure the power is OFF at the circuit breaker. This device is designed for in-wall installation in a standard electrical box.

4.1 Wiring Diagram

The switch requires Live (Line), Load, and Neutral connections. A ground wire should also be connected for safety.

4.2 Installation Steps

  1. Turn off power: Locate the circuit breaker controlling the switch location and turn it OFF. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
  2. Remove old switch: Carefully remove the existing wall plate and switch from the electrical box. Disconnect the wires.
  3. Wire the NEO switch: Connect the wires to the corresponding terminals on the NEO Z-Wave Plus Smart Light Switch.
    • Connect the Live (Line) wire to the 'L' terminal.
    • Connect the Load wire(s) to the 'L1' and 'L2' terminals (for 1st and 2nd gang respectively).
    • Connect the Neutral wire to the 'N' terminal.
    • Connect the Ground wire to the ground screw in the box.

    Note: Some users have reported issues with terminal design and mounting. Ensure wires are neatly tucked into the electrical box to prevent interference with the mounting plate. Spacers or washers may be needed between the back plate and the wall if the main unit clips do not seat properly.

  4. Mount the switch: Secure the switch into the electrical box using the provided screws.
  5. Attach faceplate: Snap the glass faceplate onto the switch module.
  6. Restore power: Turn the power back ON at the circuit breaker.

5. Z-Wave Network Setup

The NEO Z-Wave Plus Smart Light Switch must be included (paired) into a Z-Wave network to enable smart control features. It works with most Z-Wave hubs, including SmartThings, Vera, Fibaro, HomeSeer, Iris, and Aeotec.

5.1 Inclusion (Pairing)

  1. Ensure your Z-Wave gateway controller is in inclusion mode (refer to your gateway's manual for specific instructions).
  2. On the NEO Smart Light Switch, quickly press one of the touch buttons three times. The indicator light will flash to confirm inclusion mode.
  3. The gateway will detect and add the device. Once successfully included, the indicator light will stop flashing and show its normal status.

5.2 Exclusion (Unpairing)

  1. Ensure your Z-Wave gateway controller is in exclusion mode.
  2. On the NEO Smart Light Switch, quickly press one of the touch buttons three times. The indicator light will flash to confirm exclusion mode.
  3. The gateway will remove the device from the network.

6. Operating Instructions

The NEO Smart Light Switch offers both manual touch control and remote Z-Wave control.

6.1 Manual Control

Simply touch the circular icons on the glass panel to toggle the connected lights or devices ON/OFF.

6.2 Remote Control via Z-Wave Hub

Once paired with your Z-Wave hub, you can control the switch remotely using your hub's mobile application or other integrated smart home systems. This allows for scheduling, scene creation, and control from anywhere.

7. Maintenance

The NEO Z-Wave Plus Smart Light Switch requires minimal maintenance.

  • Cleaning: To clean the glass panel, gently wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the surface.
  • Firmware Updates: Check your Z-Wave hub's documentation for information on potential firmware updates for connected devices.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your NEO Z-Wave Plus Smart Light Switch, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
