Operating Instructions
Charging a Smart Battery
- Ensure the Spektrum S120 charger is connected to a functional USB power source.
- Connect your Spektrum Smart battery to the charger. For LiPo, LiFe, and LiHV batteries, both the main lead (IC3 connector) and the balance lead must be connected. For NiMh batteries, only the main lead is required.

LED Status Indicator
Monitor the LED light on the charger for status indication:
- Blinking Purple or Yellow: Charging in progress.
- Solid Green: Charging complete.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Regularly clean the charger's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents, abrasive cleaners, or allow moisture to enter the device.
Storage
Store the charger in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and moisture when not in use.
Cable and Connector Inspection
Periodically inspect the USB-C cable and all battery connectors (IC3 and balance ports) for any signs of wear, damage, or corrosion. Replace damaged components immediately to ensure safe operation.
Troubleshooting
Charger Not Powering On
- Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the charger and a functional USB power source.
- Verify that the USB power source is active and providing power. Try a different USB port or power adapter if available.
Battery Not Charging
- Confirm that you are using a compatible Spektrum Smart battery (2-3 cell LiPo/LiFe/LiHV or 6-7 cell NiMh).
- For LiPo, LiFe, and LiHV batteries, ensure both the main IC3 connector and the balance lead are correctly and fully connected to the charger.
- Check for any visible damage to the battery or charger connectors.
Slow Charging
- Charging speed is dependent on the power output of your USB source. For optimal 20W charging, use a USB power adapter capable of delivering 20W.
