4. Setup and Refilling Instructions
Your Eagle Torch Lighters are shipped without butane fuel for safety reasons. Please follow these steps to refill your lighters:
- Prepare for Refilling: Ensure the lighter is in the 'OFF' position and the flame adjustment is set to the lowest setting. Work in a well-ventilated area, away from any ignition sources.
- Release Residual Gas: Using a small tool (like a pen tip or the red tool often provided with butane cans), gently press the refill valve at the bottom of the lighter to release any remaining gas. This helps prevent air pockets and ensures a full refill.
- Insert Butane Canister: Hold the butane canister upside down and firmly insert its nozzle into the refill valve at the bottom of the lighter. Press down for 5-10 seconds. Repeat this process 2-3 times until the fuel tank appears full. The transparent fuel tank allows you to monitor the butane level.
- Stabilize Gas: After refilling, wait at least 2-3 minutes for the butane gas to stabilize and reach room temperature before attempting to ignite the lighter. This ensures proper function and prevents potential issues.

5. Operating Instructions
- Unlock Safety Lock: Locate the child safety lock switch, typically on the side of the lighter. Slide it to the 'ON' or 'UNLOCKED' position.
- Ignite Flame: Press the ignition button/trigger to produce a jet flame.
- Adjust Flame Size: Use the flame adjustment valve (often a small dial or slider on the side or bottom) to increase or decrease the flame intensity as needed. Turn towards '+' for a larger flame and '-' for a smaller flame.
- Nozzle Rotation (if applicable): Some models feature a rotatable nozzle (e.g., 0°-30°-45°). Adjust the nozzle angle by gently rotating it to direct the flame as required.
- Extinguish Flame: Release the ignition button to turn off the flame. For continuous flame, some models have a lock feature; slide the lock to the 'LOCKED' position while the flame is active, then slide back to 'UNLOCKED' to extinguish.
- Re-engage Safety Lock: After use, always slide the child safety lock back to the 'OFF' or 'LOCKED' position to prevent accidental ignition.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the lighter with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust or debris. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the lighter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and flammable materials. Ensure the safety lock is engaged before storage.
7. Troubleshooting
- Lighter Not Igniting:
- Check butane level: The transparent tank allows you to see if the lighter is empty. Refill if necessary.
- Release air: Sometimes air pockets can form during refilling. Follow step 2 of the refilling instructions to 'burp' the lighter.
- Adjust flame setting: Ensure the flame adjustment is not set too low. Increase it slightly and try again.
- Weak or Inconsistent Flame:
- Butane quality: Ensure you are using high-quality butane fuel. Low-quality fuel can cause performance issues.
- Refill properly: Follow the refilling instructions carefully to ensure the tank is full and free of air.
- Temperature: Butane lighters may perform less efficiently in very cold temperatures. Allow the lighter to warm up to room temperature.
