2. Safety Information

  • Infrared (IR) LEDs: 21 high-intensity infrared LEDs for night vision.
  • Camera Lens: Captures still images and video.
  • PIR Sensor: Passive Infrared sensor for motion detection.

  • Battery Compartment: Located on the side or back, holds 8 AA batteries.

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment latch.
  2. Insert 8 new AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  3. Close the battery compartment securely until the latch clicks into place.

5.2 SD Card Installation

  1. Locate the SD card slot, typically near the battery compartment or on the side.
  2. Insert a formatted SD card (up to 32GB) into the slot with the metal contacts facing down. Push until it clicks into place.
  3. To remove, push the card in slightly until it springs out.

5.3 Mounting the Camera

The camera is designed for outdoor use and can be mounted to a tree or post.

  1. Select a sturdy tree or post at the desired height (typically 3-6 feet off the ground).
  2. Thread the provided bungee cords through the mounting loops on the camera.
  3. Wrap the bungee cords around the tree/post and secure them tightly, ensuring the camera is stable and facing the desired area.
  4. Ensure there are no obstructions directly in front of the camera lens or PIR sensor.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Powering On/Off

  • To power on, slide the power switch to the "ON" position. The LCD display will illuminate.
  • To power off, slide the power switch to the "OFF" position.

6.2 Basic Settings

Use the control buttons (usually labeled MENU, UP, DOWN, OK) to navigate the camera's settings on the LCD display.

  • Mode: Select between Photo, Video, or Photo+Video mode.
  • Resolution: Set image resolution (e.g., 14MP) and video resolution (e.g., 720p).
  • Delay: Adjust the time interval between detections before the camera takes another picture or video.
  • Time/Date: Set the current time and date for accurate timestamps on your media.

6.3 Capturing Images and Videos

Once configured, the camera will automatically capture media when motion is detected within its 65-foot detection range. The fast 0.7-second trigger speed ensures quick capture.

6.4 Night Vision

The Terra Extreme camera utilizes 21 high-intensity infrared LEDs to capture clear images and videos in low-light or complete darkness without spooking game. The IR flash range extends up to 65 feet.

6.5 Retrieving Data

To access your captured images and videos:

  1. Power off the camera.
  2. Remove the SD card from its slot.
  3. Insert the SD card into a computer's SD card reader or a compatible device.
  4. Browse the contents of the SD card to view or transfer your files.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and housing. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace all 8 AA batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display or when performance degrades.
  • SD Card Management: Regularly format your SD card (after backing up data) to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption.
