Important Safety Instructions

Please read and follow all safety and installation instructions in this user manual prior to use. Failure to do so may result in injury, electric shock, and/or fire.

  • Do not place the heating pad on flammable substrate surfaces such as wooden items, plastic, or carpets.
  • Do not cover the heating pad with anything that would impede heat dissipation.
  • Do not place glass containers in areas that may be exposed to direct sunlight.
  • The Under Tank Heater should be placed on the outside of the tank only.
  • If placing the heater on the underside of the tank, ensure the tank is slightly elevated using the included rubber feet or another method to prevent heat encapsulation.
  • Avoid spilling or spraying water directly on the glass where the heater is attached, as this could cause stress cracks.
  • Do not use the heating pad on aquatic tanks, as this combination can create stress cracks.
  • Always use a substrate that will absorb water and keep water dishes on the opposite side of the terrarium from the heating pad.
  • Never exceed the rated input voltage of the appliance.
  • Do not allow children to touch, climb on, or play with the appliance.
  • Do not operate the appliance if there are signs of damage or if the power cord is damaged.

Setup Instructions

  1. Prepare the Terrarium: Ensure the outside surface of your terrarium where the heating pad will be applied is clean and dry.
  2. Apply the Heating Pad:
    • Peel off the protective paper from the adhesive side of the heating pad.

  3. Attach Rubber Feet (for bottom mounting): If you chose to mount the heating pad on the bottom of the terrarium, attach the included rubber feet to the bottom corners of the terrarium. This elevates the tank slightly, allowing excess heat to escape and preventing heat encapsulation.

  4. Position the Temperature Probe: Place the temperature probe inside the terrarium, ideally near the heating area but not directly on the heating pad. Secure it with the included suction cup or other means to ensure it accurately measures the ambient temperature within the enclosure.
  5. Connect the Thermostat: Plug the heating pad's power cord into the outlet socket on the digital thermostat. Then, plug the thermostat's power cord into a standard 120V electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Once plugged in, the digital display on the thermostat will light up, showing the current temperature measured by the probe. The "POWER" indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Set Desired Temperature:
    • Press and hold the "SET" button for 3 seconds to enter the temperature selection mode. The display will flash.
    • Use the "UP" or "DOWN" buttons to adjust the desired temperature.
