5. Operating Instructions

Once the battery grip is securely attached and powered, you can utilize its features:

  • Vertical Shutter Release: For comfortable vertical shooting, use the dedicated shutter release button on the battery grip. It functions identically to the camera's main shutter button.
  • AE/AF Lock Button: The AE/AF lock button on the grip allows you to lock exposure and/or focus, providing greater control over your shots, especially in challenging lighting or focusing situations.
  • Control Dials and Buttons: The dual control dials and additional buttons on the grip replicate the camera's main controls, allowing you to adjust settings like aperture, shutter speed, and ISO without changing your grip position during vertical shooting.
  • Power Source: The grip draws power from the inserted batteries, extending your camera's operational time. Ensure the camera's power switch is turned on to use the grip's power.

6. Maintenance and Care

  • Keep the battery grip clean and dry. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe off dust and smudges.
  • Avoid exposing the grip to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • When not in use for extended periods, remove batteries from the grip to prevent leakage and damage.
  • Handle the electrical contacts with care to avoid damage.
