1. Introduction
The SKYRC GSM-015 GNSS GPS Speed Meter is a high-precision device designed for measuring speed, altitude, and other flight parameters for various remote-controlled vehicles, including RC drones, FPV systems, multirotors, quadcopters, airplanes, and helicopters. This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your GSM-015 device.

2. Features
The SKYRC GSM-015 offers a range of advanced features for precise data acquisition:
- Measures Top Speed, Average Speed, and Top Altitude.
- Concurrent reception of both GPS and GLONASS satellite systems for enhanced accuracy.
- Functions as a GNSS Coordinator.
- Adjustable update frequency up to 10Hz for more accurate data.
- Built-in 1MB flash memory, capable of recording data for up to 2 hours at 10Hz or 18 hours at 1Hz.
- UTC timestamp logged for each track point.

3. Package Contents
Upon opening the package, please verify that all items are present and in good condition:

4. Setup
4.1 Charging the Device
Before initial use, fully charge the built-in LiPo battery. Connect the device to a USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter) using the provided micro USB cable.

4.2 Powering On/Off
To power on the device, press and hold the 'ON/OFF' button located on the side. To power off, press and hold the 'ON/OFF' button again until the display turns off.
4.3 Satellite Acquisition
For accurate readings, ensure the device has a clear view of the sky to acquire satellite signals. The satellite signal strength indicator on the display will show the connection status.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Viewing Data
The device's screen displays various data points such as current speed, peak speed, average speed, altitude, total mileage/kilometer, longitude, and latitude. Use the 'MODE' button to cycle through different display modes and view the desired information.

5.2 Switching Measurement Units
To switch between Metric (e.g., km/h) and Imperial (e.g., mph) systems of measurement, hold and press the 'MODE' button. The display will update to reflect the selected unit.

5.3 Recording Data
The device automatically logs data to its built-in 1MB flash memory. The recording time depends on the selected update frequency. When the memory is full, the oldest data will be overwritten by new data.
6. Data Management with GNSS LOGGER Software
The GNSS LOGGER software allows for advanced device management and data analysis. It is compatible with Windows 7 and above, and macOS 10.12 and above.
6.1 Software Functions
With the GNSS LOGGER software, you can perform the following actions:
- Transfer log data from the device to your computer.
- Display track data on built-in globally accessible Bing Maps.
- Save log data to your computer.
- Select the software language (English and Chinese).
- Change the device's time zone.
- Adjust the GNSS update rate.
- Perform firmware upgrades.

7. Maintenance
7.1 Battery Care
The device uses a built-in rechargeable LiPo battery. To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently and store the device with a partial charge if not used for extended periods. Do not expose the battery to extreme temperatures.

7.2 Cleaning and Storage
Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Store the device in a cool, dry place within the recommended storage temperature range of -10°C to 70°C and operating humidity of 5% to 90%.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your SKYRC GSM-015, consider the following:
- No Satellite Signal: Ensure the device has a clear, unobstructed view of the sky. Move away from tall buildings or dense foliage.
- Incorrect Time Display: Connect the device to the GNSS LOGGER software and verify the time zone settings.
- Software Connection Issues: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected and that the GNSS LOGGER software is installed correctly and is compatible with your operating system. Try restarting both the device and your computer.
- Battery Cover Loose: Some users have noted the battery cover can be loose. Ensure it is properly secured. If persistent, a small piece of tape can help.
