Tihebeyan Universal Learning Remote Control Instruction Manual

Model: Tihebeyanh2gz3dmupv-01

1. Introduction

The Tihebeyan Universal Learning Remote Control is designed to simplify your home entertainment experience by consolidating essential functions from multiple remote controls into one easy-to-use device. With its 6 large, clearly labeled buttons, it is particularly suitable for users who prefer a straightforward interface, such as the elderly or children. This remote can learn functions from your existing TV, STB, DVD, DVB, HiFi, and VCR remote controls, replacing complex original remotes with only the most frequently used commands like power, volume, and channel selection.

2. Setup and Programming

2.1 Battery Installation

The remote control requires two (2) AAA batteries (not included). To install:

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote.
  2. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2.2 Learning Function Programming

This remote learns commands directly from your original remote control. Ensure both remotes have fresh batteries and are functioning correctly. Keep your original remote handy.

Follow these steps to program each button:

  1. Enter Learning Mode: Press and hold the 'POWER' button and the 'AV' button simultaneously on the Tihebeyan remote until the red indicator light flashes rapidly. Release both buttons. The light will continue to flash, indicating it is in learning mode.
  2. Select Button to Program: Press the button on the Tihebeyan remote that you wish to program (e.g., 'VOL+'). The red indicator light will now flash slowly, waiting for a signal.
  3. Transmit Signal: Hold your original remote control and the Tihebeyan remote approximately 1 to 3 centimeters (0.4 to 1.2 inches) apart, pointing their infrared emitters directly at each other.
  4. Send Command: Press and hold the corresponding button on your original remote (e.g., 'Volume Up') for about 2 seconds. The Tihebeyan remote's indicator light will flash rapidly three times and then turn solid, indicating successful learning.
  5. Repeat for Other Buttons: Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all other buttons you wish to program (CH+, CH-, VOL-, AV).
  6. Exit Learning Mode: After programming all desired buttons, press the 'POWER' button on the Tihebeyan remote to exit learning mode. The indicator light will turn off.

Important Notes:

  • Ensure a stable environment during programming, avoiding direct sunlight or strong light sources that might interfere with infrared signals.
  • If the indicator light does not flash as described, or if programming fails, try again from step 1. Ensure the remotes are positioned correctly and batteries are fresh.

3. Operating the Remote Control

Once programmed, the Tihebeyan Universal Learning Remote Control functions like your original remote for the assigned commands.

  • VOL+ / VOL-: Increases or decreases volume.

The remote control distance is up to 10 meters (33 feet), though actual performance may vary depending on your device and environmental factors.

4. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the remote with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the remote's performance diminishes or if the indicator light does not respond as expected. Always use new AAA batteries.
  • Storage: Store the remote in a dry place, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Remote not responding: Check if batteries are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
  • Programming difficulties:
    • Ensure both remotes are held steadily and pointed directly at each other, very close (1-3 cm).
    • Verify that the original remote is functioning correctly.
    • Repeat the programming steps carefully, paying attention to the indicator light's behavior.
    • Some devices or specific functions may have unique infrared signals that are more challenging to learn. Try multiple attempts or adjust the distance slightly.
  • Buttons not working after programming: Re-enter learning mode and reprogram the specific button. Ensure the original remote's button is pressed firmly and held for the required duration during the learning process.
  • Limited functionality: This remote is designed for essential functions. It will only replicate the commands you program from your original remote. Advanced functions not programmed will not be available.
