Before First Use:

Unpack the iron and remove all packaging materials. Ensure all components are present: iron unit, instructions, and warranty card.

Filling the Water Tank:

The Rowenta DW2360 is designed for use with tap water. For optimal performance and longevity, especially in hard water areas, consider using a mix of tap water and distilled water (50/50 ratio).

  1. Ensure the iron is unplugged and cool.
  2. Open the water tank inlet cover located at the top of the iron.
  3. Hold the iron horizontally and carefully pour water into the tank up to the 'MAX' indicator line. Avoid overfilling.
  4. Close the water tank inlet cover securely.

Operating Instructions

Powering On and Temperature Selection:

  1. Plug the iron into a 120V AC outlet. The indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Turn the temperature dial to select the appropriate heat setting for your fabric type (e.g., Linen, Cotton, Wool, Silk, Synthetics).
  3. Allow the iron to heat up. The indicator light will turn off when the desired temperature is reached.

Dry Ironing:

For dry ironing, ensure the steam control is set to the 'OFF' position. Iron garments as usual.

Steam Ironing:

For steam ironing, ensure the water tank is filled. Once the iron reaches the selected temperature (usually higher settings like Cotton or Linen), slide the steam control to the desired steam level.

Vertical Steaming:

The Rowenta DW2360 can also be used for vertical steaming. Hold the iron vertically, close to the garment (do not touch), and press the steam burst button repeatedly. This is ideal for delicate fabrics, drapes, or garments on hangers.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Soleplate:

To clean the soleplate, use a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner. Do not use metallic pads or abrasive cleaning agents as they can damage the soleplate.

Descaling (Self-Clean Function):

Regular descaling helps maintain optimal steam performance. The iron features a self-clean function:

  1. Fill the water tank to the 'MAX' line.
  2. Set the temperature dial to 'MAX' and the steam control to 'OFF'.
  3. Plug in the iron and allow it to heat up until the indicator light turns off.
  4. Unplug the iron and hold it horizontally over a sink.
  5. Press and hold the self-clean button (usually located near the steam control) until all water and impurities are flushed out.
  6. Release the button and allow the iron to cool down.

Storage:

Always empty the water tank after each use. Store the iron upright on its heel rest to prevent damage to the soleplate.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues:

  • Iron not heating: Check if the iron is properly plugged in and the temperature dial is set correctly. Ensure the auto-off function has not activated.
  • No steam or insufficient steam: Check the water level in the tank. Ensure the temperature is set high enough for steam production (usually Linen or Cotton settings). The steam control should be in the 'ON' position.
  • Water leaking from soleplate: This can occur if the temperature is too low for steam, or if the water tank is overfilled. Ensure the iron is hot enough before using steam and do not overfill.
  • White flakes/residue: This indicates mineral buildup. Perform the self-clean function as described in the Maintenance section.
