Carefully remove the waffle maker from its packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or disposal. Ensure all components are present: the waffle maker unit and batter cup.
Initial Cleaning
Before first use, wipe the non-stick cooking plates with a damp cloth or sponge. Dry thoroughly. The exterior can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the unit in water.
Placement
Place the waffle maker on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for ventilation and safe operation, especially when rotating.

Pre-heating
Plug the waffle maker into a 120V electrical outlet. The power indicator light will illuminate. Allow the unit to pre-heat for approximately 5-7 minutes until the ready indicator light turns on, signaling it has reached the optimal cooking temperature.
Operating Instructions
- Prepare Batter: Prepare your favorite waffle batter. The included batter cup can assist with measuring.
- Pre-heat: Ensure the waffle maker is pre-heated as described in the Setup section.
- Adjust Shade Control: Use the variable shade selector dial to choose your desired waffle crispness, from light to dark.
- Add Batter: Open one side of the waffle maker. Pour approximately 1/2 cup of batter onto the lower cooking plate, ensuring it spreads evenly into the Mickey Mouse molds. Do not overfill.
- Close and Flip: Close the lid. Immediately rotate the waffle maker 180 degrees using the handle. This ensures even distribution of batter and consistent cooking on both sides.
- Cook: Allow the waffles to cook. The ready indicator light will turn off during cooking and illuminate again when the waffles are done. Cooking time varies based on batter type and desired crispness (typically 3-5 minutes).
- Remove Waffles: Once cooked, carefully open the waffle maker. Use a heat-resistant, non-metallic utensil (plastic or wood) to remove the waffles. Do not use metal utensils, as they can damage the non-stick coating.
- Repeat: To cook more waffles, rotate the unit back to its original position, add batter to the other side, and repeat the process.

Care and Cleaning
Proper care and cleaning will ensure the longevity and performance of your waffle maker.
- Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the waffle maker from the electrical outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Clean Cooking Plates: The non-stick cooking plates are easiest to clean when slightly warm. Wipe them with a damp cloth or sponge. For stubborn batter residue, use a small amount of cooking oil to soften it, then wipe clean. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the non-stick surface.
- Clean Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the waffle maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Do Not Immerse: Never immerse the waffle maker, its cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
- Storage: Once clean and completely dry, store the waffle maker in an upright position to save space. The cord can be wrapped around the base for neat storage.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Waffles are sticking to the plates. | Insufficient pre-heating, damaged non-stick coating, or not enough oil/butter in batter. | Ensure the waffle maker is fully pre-heated until the ready light illuminates. Lightly grease the plates with cooking spray or butter before each use, especially for the first batch. Avoid using metal utensils. |
| Waffles are not cooking evenly. | Uneven batter distribution or not flipping the unit. | Ensure batter is spread evenly across the Mickey Mouse molds. Remember to rotate the waffle maker 180 degrees immediately after closing the lid to ensure even cooking on both sides. |
| Waffles are too light or too dark. | Shade control setting is incorrect. | Adjust the variable shade selector dial to a higher setting for darker waffles or a lower setting for lighter waffles. Experiment to find your preferred shade. |
| Waffle maker does not turn on. | Not plugged in, power switch off, or power outage. | Check that the unit is securely plugged into a working 120V outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the "on" position. Verify there is power to the outlet. |
