4. Maintenance
4.1 Battery Replacement
When the batteries are low, the safe will provide a low voltage notification (e.g., a specific light indicator or sound). Replace all 4 AA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Codes and fingerprints are retained in memory even when batteries are changed.
4.2 Cleaning
Clean the exterior of the safe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components. Keep the fingerprint scanner clean and dry for optimal performance.
5. Troubleshooting
- Safe does not open with PIN/Fingerprint: Ensure batteries are not low. Re-enter PIN carefully. Re-register fingerprints if issues persist. Use the backup key if electronic access fails.
- Keypad/Fingerprint scanner unresponsive: Check battery levels. Ensure the surface of the scanner is clean and dry.
- Door does not close properly: Check for any obstructions inside the safe or around the door frame. Ensure the locking bolts are fully retracted before closing.
- Alarm sounds unexpectedly: This may indicate tampering or incorrect entry attempts. Review your entry methods and ensure the safe is securely closed.
