3. Setup and Charging

3.1 Initial Charge

Before first use, fully charge the magnifier. The device includes a built-in Lithium Polymer battery.

  1. Locate the Micro USB charging port on the side of the magnifier.
  2. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the magnifier's port and to a compatible USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter).
  3. The charging indicator light will illuminate red while charging.
  4. A full charge typically takes approximately 2 hours. The indicator light will turn green when fully charged.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off and Lighting Modes

The magnifier features a single power button that controls both power and lighting modes.

  1. To Power On: Press the power button once. The magnifier will turn on in the last used lighting mode.
  2. To Change Lighting Mode: While the magnifier is on, press the power button repeatedly to cycle through the three lighting modes: Cool White (6500K), Warm (3500K), and Combo (4000-6500K).
  3. To Power Off: Continue pressing the power button until the lights turn off, or long-press the button.

4.2 Brightness Adjustment

The brightness level for each lighting mode is fully dimmable.

  • While the magnifier is on, long-press the power button. The brightness will gradually increase or decrease. Release the button when the desired brightness is reached.

4.3 Usage Tips

  • Hold the magnifier at a comfortable distance from the reading material to achieve optimal focus and magnification.
  • Experiment with the different lighting modes to find the one that best suits your environment and reduces eye strain for your specific needs. Warm light (3500K) is often recommended for macular degeneration.

5. Maintenance and Care

5.1 Cleaning the Lens

To maintain optimal clarity, keep the lens clean and free of dust and smudges.

  • Use the provided cleaning cloth or a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth.
  • Gently wipe the lens surface. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can scratch or damage the acrylic lens.
  • For stubborn smudges, a small amount of lens cleaning solution designed for optical surfaces can be applied to the cloth (not directly to the lens).

5.2 Storage

  • Store the magnifier in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • When not in use, consider placing it in a protective pouch or case to prevent scratches to the lens.
