Thermal fuses are single-use safety devices that permanently open an electrical circuit when the temperature exceeds a safe limit, protecting the appliance from damage due to overheating. If your dryer is not heating or not starting, a blown thermal fuse may be the cause.

4. Installation Instructions

4. Remove Old Fuses: Carefully disconnect the wires attached to the old thermal fuses. Note their orientation if necessary. Remove any mounting screws or clips holding the fuses in place.
5. Install New Fuses: Attach the new UpStart Components thermal fuses in the same location and orientation as the old ones. Secure them with screws or clips and reattach the electrical wires. Ensure connections are snug.
6. Reassemble Dryer: Reattach any panels or components that were removed during disassembly. Ensure all screws are tightened and panels are securely in place.
7. Test Dryer: Reconnect the dryer to its power source. Run a short cycle to confirm proper operation and heating.

It is recommended to clean the dryer's lint trap and exhaust vent thoroughly during this process, as restricted airflow is a common cause of thermal fuse failure.

5. Troubleshooting

If your dryer still exhibits issues after replacing the thermal fuses, consider the following:

• No Heat: Check the heating element for continuity. A faulty heating element will prevent the dryer from producing heat.
• Dryer Not Starting: Verify that the door switch, motor, and other safety switches are functioning correctly.
• Repeated Fuse Failure: If the new thermal fuse blows shortly after installation, it indicates an underlying issue causing overheating. Common causes include:
