1. Introduction

The GTMEDIA V8 Finder is a high-definition digital satellite meter designed for quick and accurate setup of satellite antennas. It supports DVB-S/S2/S2X signal measurements and H.265 hardware decoding, making it an essential tool for satellite TV installers and enthusiasts. This manual provides detailed instructions for operating and maintaining your V8 Finder.

4. Product Overview

The GTMEDIA V8 Finder features a compact design with a 3.5-inch high-definition LCD screen and an intuitive button layout for easy navigation and operation.

5. Setup

5.1 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the V8 Finder. Connect the provided power adapter to the DC IN port on the device and plug it into a power outlet. The "Charge" LED indicator will illuminate during charging. A full charge provides up to 4 hours of operation.

5.2 Initial Power On

Press and hold the Power button to turn on the device. The GTMEDIA logo will appear, followed by the main menu.

5.3 Language Settings

Navigate to the "System Setup" menu using the directional keys and press OK. Select "Language" and choose your preferred language (English, German, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Turkish, Polish, Arabic, Farsi).

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Connecting to an LNB

Connect the coaxial cable from your satellite dish's LNB to the "LNB IN" port on the V8 Finder. The device will provide power to the LNB (13V/18V, max 400mA) and detect 22KHz tone and DiSEqC signals (Ver 1.0/1.1/1.2/USALS).

6.2 Satellite Signal Measurement

From the main menu, select "Satellite Search" or "Antenna Setup".

  1. Select the desired satellite from the list.
  2. Adjust LNB frequency, Transponder, Symbol Rate, and Polarization as needed.
  3. If using DiSEqC, configure the DiSEqC settings (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, USALS) according to your setup.
  4. Adjust the satellite dish direction (azimuth and elevation) while observing the signal strength and quality bars on the screen.
  5. The device will display signal level (-65 dBm ~ -25 dBm) and quality. A "Lock" indicator will confirm a stable signal.
  6. Use the BEEP button to activate an audible tone that changes with signal strength, aiding in dish alignment.

After locking onto a satellite signal:

Connect the V8 Finder to an external display (TV or monitor) using the provided AV cable or an HDMI cable (not included) to view the menu or received channels on a larger screen.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.

7.2 Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the device frequently. If storing for an extended period, charge the battery to approximately 50% and recharge every few months.

7.3 Software Updates

Periodically check the GTMEDIA official website for firmware updates. Updates can be installed via the USB port following the instructions provided with the firmware.

8. Troubleshooting
