3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the amplifier from its packaging. Verify that all components listed in the 'What's in the Box' section are present.
3.2 Power Supply
The MA-10B offers two power options:
- Power Adapter: Connect the included DC 9V power adapter to the 'DC 9V' input jack on the rear panel of the amplifier and then to a standard wall outlet.
- Batteries: For portable use, open the battery compartment on the rear panel and insert 6 AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely. The amplifier can operate for approximately 3 hours on AA alkaline batteries.

3.3 Connecting Your Instrument
Plug your bass guitar into the 'INPUT' jack on the front panel of the amplifier using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
3.4 Connecting Headphones / Auxiliary Device
- Headphones: For silent practice, connect standard headphones to the 'AUX IN' / 'HEADPHONE' jack. This will mute the amplifier's speaker.
- Auxiliary Input: To play along with external audio, connect your device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to the 'AUX IN' / 'HEADPHONE' jack using a 3.5mm stereo cable.

4.1 Controls Overview

- POWER Switch: Turns the amplifier on or off.

- CHANNEL Switch (Normal/Drive): Selects between the clean 'Normal' channel and the overdriven 'Drive' channel.
- GAIN Knob: Adjusts the input level and the amount of overdrive when the 'Drive' channel is selected.
- TONE Knob: Controls the overall tonal character, from darker to brighter.
- VOLUME Knob: Adjusts the overall output volume of the amplifier.
- AUX IN / HEADPHONE Jack: Connect headphones for silent practice or an external audio device for playing along.
4.2 Basic Operation
- Ensure your instrument is connected and the power supply is active (adapter or batteries).
- Turn the 'VOLUME' knob to its minimum position.
- Press the 'POWER' switch to turn on the amplifier.
- Select your desired channel using the 'Normal/Drive' switch.
- Slowly increase the 'VOLUME' knob to your desired listening level.
- Adjust the 'TONE' knob to shape your sound.
- If using the 'Drive' channel, adjust the 'GAIN' knob to control the amount of distortion.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Wipe the amplifier with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or internal components.
5.2 Battery Replacement
If using batteries, replace all 6 AA batteries when the sound becomes weak or distorted, or if the amplifier fails to power on. Always use fresh batteries and dispose of old batteries responsibly.
5.3 Storage
Store the amplifier in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
6. Troubleshooting
- No Sound:
- Check if the amplifier is powered on.
- Ensure the instrument cable is securely connected to both the guitar and the amplifier.
- Verify the 'VOLUME' knob is not at its minimum setting.
- If using batteries, check if they are depleted or inserted correctly.
- If headphones are connected, disconnect them to enable the speaker.
- Distorted Sound:
- Reduce the 'VOLUME' or 'GAIN' settings.
- If on the 'Drive' channel, adjust the 'GAIN' knob.
- Check if the batteries are low, as this can cause distortion.
- Humming Noise:
- Ensure all cables are properly shielded and connected.
