5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Basic Operation
- Add ingredients to the inner pot. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
- Place the lid on the cooker, aligning the arrow on the lid with the arrow on the main unit. Turn the lid clockwise until it locks into place.
- Ensure the pressure release valve is set to the "Sealing" position.
- Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. The display will show "OFF".
- Select your desired cooking function using the control panel buttons. The MTC-8016 features 14 functions including Rice, Beans, Meat, Poultry, Stew, Fish, and Veggies.
- Adjust cooking time and pressure settings (Low, Medium, High) if applicable for the selected function.
- Press "Start" to begin cooking. The cooker will preheat, build pressure, and then begin the cooking cycle.
- Once cooking is complete, the cooker will beep and switch to "Keep Warm" mode.
5.2 Releasing Pressure
There are two methods for releasing pressure:
- Natural Release: Allow the cooker to cool down naturally. The floating valve will drop on its own, indicating pressure has been released. This method is recommended for foamy foods or large cuts of meat.
- Quick Release: Carefully turn the pressure release valve to the "Venting" position. Steam will rapidly escape. Keep hands and face away from the steam. Once the floating valve drops, pressure has been released.
5.3 Delay Timer Function
The 15-hour delay timer allows you to program the cooker to start at a later time.
- Add ingredients and secure the lid as described in Basic Operation.
- Select your desired cooking function.
- Press the "Delay Timer" button. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the delay time in hours.
- Press "Start" to confirm. The cooker will begin the countdown and start cooking automatically after the set delay.
