5. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to prepare your sandwiches:
- Ensure the sandwich maker is pre-heated (green light illuminated).
- Carefully open the lid using the handle.
- Place your prepared sandwiches onto the lower grill plates. For best results, use standard sandwich bread and avoid overfilling.
- Gently close the lid and engage the safety lock. Do not force the lid shut if the sandwiches are too thick.
- Allow the sandwiches to cook for approximately 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown and the filling is heated through. Cooking time may vary depending on ingredients and desired crispness. The green light may cycle on and off during cooking as the thermostat maintains temperature.
- Once cooked, carefully open the lid and remove the sandwiches using a heat-resistant plastic or wooden spatula. Do not use metal utensils, as they can damage the non-stick coating.
- If preparing more sandwiches, close the lid and allow the appliance to reheat until the green light illuminates again.
- When finished, unplug the appliance from the wall outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
6. Cleaning and Maintenance
Proper cleaning ensures the longevity and performance of your sandwich maker.
- Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Cleaning Grill Plates: Wipe the non-stick grill plates with a soft, damp cloth or sponge. For stubborn residue, dampen a cloth with a small amount of cooking oil and wipe the plates, then wipe clean with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or metal utensils, as these will damage the non-stick coating.
- Cleaning Exterior: Wipe the exterior housing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Do Not Immerse: Never immerse the appliance, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
- Storage: Once clean and dry, the sandwich maker can be stored vertically to save space. Wrap the power cord around the designated cord storage area (if available). Ensure the safety lock is engaged for secure storage.
