5. Setup Instructions

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all parts listed in the packing list are present.
  2. Assembly: The M-Scope features a modular design. Refer to the exploded view (Figure 4.1) for component identification. Connect the base units to the side panels, ensuring secure locking mechanisms are engaged. Attach the top arch, aligning all connectors.
  3. Power Connection: Insert the rechargeable battery into its designated compartment. Alternatively, connect the M-Scope to a standard AC power outlet using the provided power adapter. Ensure the power source meets the device's specifications.
  4. Placement: Position the assembled M-Scope on a stable, level surface in the desired screening location. Ensure adequate space around the unit for safe passage and operation.

6. Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Press the power button on the control panel. The unit will perform a self-diagnostic check.
  2. Access Control Panel: Enter the password to access advanced settings. The default password can be found in the quick start guide or by contacting support.
  3. Adjust Sensitivity: Use the up/down arrows on the control panel to adjust the sensitivity level (1-100). Higher sensitivity detects smaller metallic objects but may increase false alarms. Test with known metallic items to find the optimal setting for your environment.
  4. Detection Zones: The M-Scope features three detection zones. Visual LED indicators on the side panels will illuminate to show the approximate location of detected metal.
  5. Alarm Settings: Configure audio and visual alarms via the control panel. You can adjust alarm volume and duration.
  6. Operation: Instruct individuals to walk through the detector one at a time. Observe the visual indicators and listen for audio alarms. If an alarm sounds, follow your security protocol for secondary screening.
  7. Data Monitoring: Monitor transit and target counters on the display to track traffic flow and alarm events.
  8. Power Off: Press and hold the power button to turn off the unit.
