1.1 Measuring for Installation
Accurate measurements are crucial for proper installation. Determine whether you will use an inside mount or an outside mount.
Inside Mount
For an inside mount, measure the depth of your window frame. A minimum depth of 2.4 inches is required. Measure the width at the top, middle, and bottom of the window frame, and use the smallest measurement. Measure the height at the left, middle, and right, and use the smallest measurement. Submit the exact width and height as the finished product dimensions, including the valance and bottom rod.

Outside Mount
For an outside mount, measure the width and height of the outside window frame. Add 3 to 6 inches to both the measured width and height to ensure better coverage and to prevent light leakage. The shade should be installed above the window frame. The submitted height corresponds to the distance from the top of the valance to the bottom of the rod.

1.2 Installation
Follow these steps to install your Yoolax motorized roller shades.
Mounting Brackets
- Mark the punch positions for the mounting brackets. For inside mount, ensure brackets are 5 inches from each end. For outside mount, position brackets to support the shade evenly.
- Drill holes at the marked positions.
- Insert wall anchors into the drilled holes (if necessary for your wall type).
- Secure the mounting brackets with screws.
Installing the Shade
- Align the headrail of the shade with the installed brackets.
- Push the shade firmly into the brackets until it clicks securely into place.

1.3 Connecting to Smart Home Systems
Your Yoolax motorized blinds can be integrated with various smart home systems.
Zigbee Motor (Z425)
The Zigbee Motor (Z425) directly works with specific Alexa models without needing an additional Smart Hub. Compatible Alexa models include: Echo Plus 2nd Gen, Echo Show 2nd Gen, Echo Studio, Echo Show 10, Echo 4th Gen, Echo Show 8 3rd Gen, and Echo Hub.

Bluetooth Motor (YL23)
The Bluetooth Motor (YL23) directly works with the Yoolax Home App. For integration with Alexa and Google Home (all versions), a Smart Bridge (Bluetooth Hub) is optional and can be purchased separately.

2.1 Remote Control
The Yoolax Lightwirl Remote offers convenient control over your blinds. It can control up to 9 blinds individually or as a group. The 16-Channel Remote, compatible with Zigbee and Bluetooth motors, can control up to 16 blinds.

2.4 Setting Limits and Favorite Positions
You can set upper and lower limits for your blinds, as well as a favorite intermediate position, using the Yoolax Home App.
- Open the Yoolax Home App and select your blind.
- Navigate to 'Limits Setting' or 'Favorite Position Setting'.
- Use the up/down arrows to adjust the blind to your desired position.
- Confirm the setting to save the new limit or favorite position.
3. Maintenance
3.1 Cleaning
The fabric of your Yoolax motorized blinds should be spot cleaned only. Do not machine wash or submerge in water.
- Use a soft, damp cloth with mild soap and water to gently clean any soiled areas.
- Blot the area dry with a clean cloth.
- Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the fabric.
3.2 Battery Charging
The built-in rechargeable battery motor can operate for 4-6 months on a full charge. Use the standard charging cable provided to recharge the motor.

- Connect the charging cable to the motor's charging port.
- Plug the other end into a power source.
- Charging typically takes several hours. The indicator light on the motor will show charging status.
- For enhanced energy saving, consider purchasing optional solar panels to charge your roller shades.
4. Troubleshooting
4.1 Common Issues and Solutions
- Blinds not responding to remote/app/voice commands:
- Check if the motor battery is charged. Recharge if necessary.
- Ensure the remote control battery is functional.
- Verify that the blinds are properly paired with the remote or connected to the app/smart home system. Refer to the 'Setup' section for pairing/connection instructions.
- For smart home integration, check your Wi-Fi connection and the status of your smart hub (if applicable). - Blinds not moving smoothly or stopping unexpectedly:
- Check for any obstructions in the path of the blinds.
- Ensure the blinds are correctly installed in the mounting brackets.
- The motor's limits might need to be reset or recalibrated. Refer to the app's settings for limit adjustment. - Light leakage around the edges (inside mount):
- The actual fabric width is 1.06 inches narrower than the total shade width (including side brackets/valance edge). This can cause light leakage if inside mounted.
- To solve this, consider purchasing light blockers available at the Yoolax store.
