Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure proper function and safety. The Etekcity Smart Plug allows you to control your household appliances remotely, schedule operations, and monitor energy usage through the VeSync app, as well as integrate with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Setup
- Download the VeSync App: Search for "VeSync" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and download the app. Create an account or log in if you already have one.
- Plug In the Smart Plug: Insert the Etekcity Smart Plug into a standard wall outlet. Ensure the indicator light blinks rapidly, indicating it's ready for pairing. If not, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds until it blinks rapidly.
- Connect to VeSync App: Open the VeSync app, tap the '+' icon to add a new device, and select the Smart Plug (ESW01). Follow the in-app instructions to connect the smart plug to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Integrate with Voice Assistants (Optional):
- For Amazon Alexa: Open the Alexa app, go to Skills & Games, search for "VeSync", enable the skill, and link your VeSync account. Discover devices.
- For Google Assistant: Open the Google Home app, tap 'Add', then 'Set up device', and 'Works with Google'. Search for "VeSync", link your account, and assign devices to rooms.

Operating Instructions
Manual Control
Press the power button on the smart plug to manually turn the connected appliance on or off. The indicator light will show the status.
App Control (VeSync App)
Once connected to the VeSync app, you can control your smart plug from anywhere with an internet connection.
- Remote On/Off: Tap the device in the app to toggle power.
- Scheduling: Set custom schedules for your appliances to turn on or off automatically at specific times.
- Energy Monitoring: View real-time and historical energy consumption data for connected devices within the app.
- Away Mode: Activate Away Mode to randomly turn lights on and off, creating the impression that someone is home, enhancing security.
- Group Function: Organize multiple Etekcity smart products into groups to control them simultaneously with a single tap.

Maintenance

- Firmware Updates: Regularly check the VeSync app for available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
Troubleshooting
- Smart Plug not connecting to Wi-Fi:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. The smart plug does not support 5GHz networks.
- Check that your Wi-Fi password is correct.
- Move the smart plug closer to your Wi-Fi router.
- Reset the smart plug by pressing and holding the power button for 5 seconds until the indicator light blinks rapidly, then try pairing again.
- Voice control not working:
- Ensure the VeSync skill/action is enabled in your Alexa or Google Home app.
- Verify that your VeSync account is linked correctly.
- Check the device name in the VeSync app and use that exact name in your voice commands.
- Plug not turning on/off:
- Check if the smart plug is properly plugged into the wall outlet.
- Ensure the connected appliance is powered on and functioning correctly.
- Verify the smart plug is receiving power (indicator light should be on or blinking).
- High wattage appliances: This plug may not work for high wattage machines (e.g., some portable AC units exceeding 1250W). Refer to specifications for maximum load.
