  3. Set the Day: Turn the crown counter-clockwise to adjust the day.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Automatic Movement

Your Orient Kamasu watch is powered by a Japanese automatic movement. This means it is self-winding and does not require a battery. The movement of your wrist during daily activities winds the mainspring, providing power to the watch. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it may stop. To restart it, gently shake the watch side-to-side for about 30 seconds or manually wind it by turning the crown clockwise in position 1 (screwed down) for approximately 20-30 rotations.

4.2 Unidirectional Bezel

The 120-click unidirectional bezel rotates only counter-clockwise. This feature is designed for timing events, particularly dive times. To use it, align the triangle marker on the bezel with the minute hand at the start of your activity. The minute hand will then indicate the elapsed time against the bezel's markings. The unidirectional rotation ensures that if the bezel is accidentally moved, it will only indicate a shorter elapsed time, preventing overestimation of dive time.

4.3 Water Resistance

The watch is water resistant to 200 meters (660 feet). This rating makes it suitable for professional marine activity and serious surface water sports. However, it is not designed for saturation diving. Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before exposing the watch to water. Avoid operating the crown or pushers (if any) while the watch is wet or submerged.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and bracelet regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish.

5.2 Storage

When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The original watch box is ideal for this purpose. Avoid placing the watch near magnetic fields, as this can affect the accuracy of the automatic movement.

5.3 Professional Servicing

Like any precision instrument, your automatic watch benefits from periodic professional servicing. It is recommended to have your watch inspected and serviced by an authorized Orient service center every 3-5 years to ensure its continued accuracy and water resistance.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Watch Not Running

  • Ensure the watch has sufficient power reserve. If it has been stationary, gently shake it or manually wind it as described in Section 4.1.
  • Check if the crown is fully pushed in and screwed down. If it's pulled out, the movement will be stopped for time setting.

6.2 Incorrect Time or Day/Date

  • Re-set the time and day/date according to the instructions in Section 3.2.
  • Ensure the crown is fully screwed down after setting.

6.3 Condensation Inside the Crystal

If you notice condensation inside the watch crystal, this may indicate a loss of water resistance. Immediately take the watch to an authorized service center for inspection and repair to prevent further damage to the movement.
