6. Operating Instructions

The Cylewet CYT1117 buzzer operates on a simple principle:

  • When a DC voltage within the 3-24V range is applied to the red (+) and black (-) wires, the buzzer will emit a continuous sound at approximately 100dB.
  • The sound will cease when the power supply is disconnected.
  • This buzzer is designed for applications requiring a constant audible alert, such as security alarms, notification systems, or DIY electronic projects.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No sound from buzzer
  • Incorrect wiring (reversed polarity)
  • No power supply
  • Voltage outside 3-24V DC range
  • Loose connections
  • Damaged buzzer
  • Ensure red wire is connected to positive (+), black to negative (-).
  • Verify power supply is active.
  • Check power supply voltage with a multimeter.
  • Secure all wire connections.
  • Replace the buzzer if damaged.
Weak or intermittent sound
  • Insufficient voltage
  • Loose connections
  • Ensure voltage is closer to the rated 12V for optimal performance, or at least within the 3-24V range.
  • Check and secure all connections.
