Product Overview

The GearLight S500 LED Headlamp is a lightweight, battery-powered headlamp designed for various outdoor and indoor activities. Setup

1. Battery Installation

The GearLight S500 headlamp requires three (3) AAA batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install the batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the top of the headlamp unit. It has a small clasp.
  2. Gently lift the clasp to open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert three AAA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely until the clasp clicks into place.

2. Adjusting the Headband

The headlamp features an adjustable headband for a comfortable and secure fit for various head sizes, including adults and children. To adjust the headband:

  • Locate the adjustable buckles on either side of the headband.
  • Slide the buckles to lengthen or shorten the strap until the headlamp fits snugly and comfortably around your head.
  • The headband can be adjusted to accommodate wearing over hats or beanies.

3. Adjusting Light Angle

The headlamp unit can be pivoted up or down to direct the light beam precisely where needed. This feature is useful for various tasks and activities.

  • Grasp the headlamp unit firmly.
  • Gently tilt the unit forward or backward to achieve the desired angle. The headlamp has a 45-degree pivotable head.

Operating Instructions

The GearLight S500 headlamp offers 7 different lighting modes, including white light with multiple brightness levels and red light with strobe options.

1. Power On/Off and Mode Selection

The main control button is located on the top of the headlamp unit. Pressing this button cycles through the available modes:

  1. First Press: Turns on the white light at its lowest brightness setting.
  2. Second Press: Increases white light brightness to medium.
  3. Third Press: Increases white light brightness to maximum.
  4. Fourth Press: Activates the white light strobe mode.
  5. Fifth Press: Switches to red light mode (single brightness).
  6. Sixth Press: Activates red light strobe mode 1.
  7. Seventh Press: Activates red light strobe mode 2.
  8. Eighth Press: Turns the headlamp off.

Note: Red light is often preferred for preserving night vision.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

The adjustable headband is removable and washable. To clean the headband:

  1. Detach the headband from the headlamp unit.
  2. Hand wash the headband with mild soap and water.
  3. Allow the headband to air dry completely before reattaching it to the headlamp.

For the headlamp unit, wipe it with a damp cloth. Do not submerge the unit in water.

2. Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the light becomes dim or does not turn on. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section under Setup for detailed steps.

3. Storage

When storing the headlamp for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and potential damage to the unit. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting
