Setup
Initial Activation (for new watches)
Your watch may come with a small plastic stopper under the crown to preserve battery life during shipping. Gently remove this stopper before setting the time and date.
Setting the Time and Date
- Pull the Crown: Gently pull the crown out to the first click position to set the date, or to the second click position to set the time.
- Set the Date: If the crown is at the first click, turn it clockwise or counter-clockwise to advance or reverse the date.
- Set the Time: If the crown is at the second click, turn it to move the hour and minute hands. Continue turning until the correct time is displayed. Ensure you set the correct AM/PM by observing if the day/date changes as you pass midnight.
- Push the Crown Back: Once the time and date are set, push the crown back into its original position to start the watch movement.
Operation
Using Indiglo Night-Light
Your Timex Easy Reader Watch features the Indiglo night-light for easy readability in the dark.
- Activate: Simply press and hold the crown (push it inwards) to illuminate the entire watch dial.
- Deactivate: Release the crown to turn off the Indiglo light.
Maintenance
Water Resistance
Your watch is water resistant to 30 meters (100 feet). This means it is designed to withstand splashes, rain, or brief immersion in water. It is not suitable for swimming, showering, or diving. Avoid operating the crown while the watch is wet to prevent water intrusion.
Battery Replacement
The watch uses 1 Lithium Metal battery (CR2016, 3.0 V). When the watch stops or the Indiglo light dims significantly, it's time to replace the battery. Battery replacement should ideally be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and water resistance is maintained.
Cleaning
To clean your watch, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. For the stainless steel band, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

Troubleshooting
- Watch is not running: Check if the plastic stopper has been removed from under the crown. If it has, the battery may need replacement.
- Time or Date is incorrect: Follow the "Setting the Time and Date" instructions in the Setup section. Note that setting the date may require turning the crown multiple times to advance through days.
- Indiglo light is dim or not working: This typically indicates a low battery. Replace the battery as described in the Maintenance section.
- Condensation under the crystal: If condensation appears, it may indicate a breach in the water resistance. Have the watch inspected by a qualified technician immediately.
