  3. Insert Battery: Place the 1800mAh Lithium Ion battery into its compartment, ensuring the contacts align with those in the device.
  4. Replace Back Cover: Securely reattach the back cover.

3.2 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the device.

  1. Connect the Micro USB cable to the device's charging port.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to a USB power adapter (not always included) or a computer's USB port.
  3. The charging indicator light (if present) will illuminate. The device is fully charged when the light changes color or turns off.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds until the indicator lights illuminate.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button again until the indicator lights turn off.

4.2 Connecting Devices to the Hotspot

You can connect Wi-Fi enabled devices such as laptops, smartphones, and smart televisions to your MW40 hotspot.

  1. Activate Hotspot: Ensure your MW40 device is powered on and has established a 4G network connection (indicated by the network light).
  2. Find Network Name (SSID) and Password: The default Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password are usually printed on a sticker inside the battery compartment or on the device itself.
  3. Connect from Your Device:
    • On your Wi-Fi enabled device, go to Wi-Fi settings.
    • Scan for available networks.
    • Select the SSID of your Vodafone MW40 hotspot.
    • Enter the Wi-Fi password when prompted.
  4. WPS Connection (Optional): If your device supports WPS, press the WPS button on the MW40, then activate WPS on your client device within two minutes to establish a connection without entering the password.

4.3 Accessing the Web Management Interface

For advanced settings, such as changing the Wi-Fi name or password, or checking data usage, access the web management interface.

  1. Connect your computer or smartphone to the MW40 hotspot's Wi-Fi network.
  2. Open a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox).
  3. Enter the default IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) into the address bar and press Enter. This IP address is usually found on the sticker with the SSID and password.
  4. Enter the default username and password (commonly admin for both, or as specified on the device sticker).
  5. You can now configure network settings, view connected devices, and manage other hotspot features.

  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid extreme temperatures. Do not leave the device fully discharged for extended periods.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Avoid liquid cleaners.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Software Updates: Periodically check the web management interface for available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
