Setup
1. Inserting a MicroSD Card
- Ensure the dash cam is powered off.
- Locate the MicroSD card slot on the side of the device.
- Insert a Class 10 or higher MicroSD card (up to 32GB recommended) with the gold contacts facing the screen, until it clicks into place.
- To remove, gently push the card in until it clicks, then release. It will spring out.
2. Mounting the Dash Cam
- Clean the windshield area where you intend to mount the dash cam.
- Attach the suction cup mount to the dash cam.
- Press the suction cup firmly against the windshield and flip the lever to secure it.
- Adjust the camera angle to ensure a clear view of the road ahead, avoiding obstruction of your driving view.
3. Power Connection
- Connect the provided car charger to the dash cam's power port.
- Plug the other end of the car charger into your vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket).
- Route the cable safely to avoid interference with driving controls.
- The dash cam will typically power on automatically when the vehicle starts and power off when the vehicle is turned off.
4. Initial Settings
- Upon first power-on, you may need to set the date and time.
- Press the 'M' button to enter the menu.
- Use the up/down buttons (often integrated with 'OK' or 'M' in some models, or separate buttons if available) to navigate to 'Date/Time' settings.
- Press 'OK' to select and adjust the values. Press 'OK' again to confirm.
- It is recommended to format the MicroSD card before first use via the menu settings to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.
Operating Instructions
1. Powering On/Off
- Automatic: The dash cam powers on and begins recording automatically when connected to vehicle power and the ignition is on. It powers off when the ignition is turned off.
- Manual: Press and hold the power button (if available) for a few seconds to manually turn the device on or off.
2. Recording Modes
- Video Recording Mode: This is the default mode. The camera continuously records video in segments (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes). When the memory card is full, the oldest unprotected files are overwritten (loop recording).
- Photo Mode: Press the 'M' button to switch to photo mode. Press 'OK' to take a still picture.
- Playback Mode: Press the 'M' button again to enter playback mode. Use the navigation buttons to select a file and 'OK' to play/view.
3. Loop Recording
The dash cam records video in continuous loops. Once the MicroSD card is full, the system automatically overwrites the oldest unprotected files. This ensures continuous recording without manual intervention.
4. G-Sensor (Emergency Recording)
The built-in G-sensor detects sudden impacts or rapid acceleration/deceleration. When triggered, it automatically locks the current video segment, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. These protected files are stored in a separate folder on the MicroSD card.
5. File Protection
During recording, press the 'Lock' button to manually protect the current video file from being overwritten. This is useful for saving specific events you wish to keep.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Device
- Ensure the dash cam is powered off and disconnected from power.
- Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the body of the camera.
- For the lens and screen, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth to avoid scratches. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
2. MicroSD Card Management
- It is recommended to format the MicroSD card regularly (e.g., once a month) to maintain optimal recording performance and prevent data corruption.
- To format, navigate to the 'Format' option in the dash cam's menu settings and confirm.
- Back up any important files to a computer before formatting.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Solution |
|---|---|
| Dash cam does not power on. | Check the power connection to the vehicle's 12V outlet. Ensure the vehicle's ignition is on. Test the charger in another device or another 12V outlet. |
| Dash cam stops recording or shows 'Card Error'. | Ensure a Class 10 or higher MicroSD card is used. Format the MicroSD card via the camera's menu. Try a different MicroSD card. |
| Video footage is blurry or unclear. | Clean the camera lens. Ensure the protective film (if any) has been removed from the lens. Check that the camera is securely mounted and not vibrating. |
| Date and time settings reset. | This may indicate a low internal battery or capacitor. Ensure the dash cam is consistently powered when the vehicle is on. Re-enter the date and time. |
| G-sensor is too sensitive or not sensitive enough. | Adjust the G-sensor sensitivity setting in the camera's menu. Lower sensitivity for fewer false triggers, higher for more detection. |
