Operating the Chronograph
Your Stauer Jet Setter watch features a chronograph function for measuring elapsed time. The watch has three subdials and two pushers (buttons) located at the 2 o'clock and 4 o'clock positions.
- Top Pusher (at 2 o'clock): Starts and stops the chronograph.
- Bottom Pusher (at 4 o'clock): Resets the chronograph to zero.
- Subdial at 6 o'clock: Chronograph seconds.
- Subdial at 9 o'clock: Chronograph minutes.
- Subdial at 3 o'clock: 24-hour military time indicator.
Using the Chronograph:
- To start timing, press the top pusher. The chronograph second hand will begin to move.
- To stop timing, press the top pusher again. The chronograph hands will stop, indicating the elapsed time.
- To reset the chronograph, press the bottom pusher. The chronograph hands will return to their zero positions.
- To measure split times (lap times), press the top pusher to start, then press the bottom pusher to temporarily stop the hands to read an intermediate time. Press the bottom pusher again to resume timing. Press the top pusher to stop the final time, then the bottom pusher to reset.
Tachymeter Function:
The tachymeter bezel on your watch can be used to measure speed over a known distance (e.g., 1 mile or 1 kilometer). Start the chronograph when you begin the distance, and stop it when you complete the distance. The number on the tachymeter scale corresponding to where the chronograph second hand points indicates the speed in units per hour (e.g., miles per hour or kilometers per hour).

Maintenance
1. Cleaning Your Watch
To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For the stainless steel bracelet, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish.
2. Water Resistance
Your Stauer Jet Setter watch is water resistant to 3 ATM (30 meters). This means it is suitable for everyday use and can withstand splashes or brief immersion in water. However, it is not suitable for swimming, showering, or diving. Avoid operating the crown or pushers when the watch is wet.
3. Battery Replacement
The watch is powered by a quartz movement and requires a battery. When the watch stops or the second hand begins to jump erratically (if applicable), it indicates a low battery. Battery replacement should be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and function.
4. Storage
When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. The original packaging or a watch box is ideal for storage.
