Model: TG8000CXER-Bivolt

Brand: Toyama

1. Product Overview

The Toyama TG8000CXER is a single-phase gasoline generator designed to provide reliable electrical power. It operates at 115/230V, 60Hz, and has a maximum output of 7.2KW. This model features both electric and manual start options and is equipped with wheels for enhanced portability. It is suitable for various applications requiring a robust and portable power source.

2. Safety Information

Always prioritize safety when operating the generator. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or death.

General Safety Precautions

  • Read the Manual: Thoroughly read and understand this entire instruction manual before operating the generator.
  • Outdoor Use Only: Operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area. Never operate it indoors or in enclosed spaces, as exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide, a colorless and odorless gas that can be fatal.
  • Keep Away from Flammables: Maintain a safe distance from flammable materials, vapors, and combustible dust.
  • Emergency Shut-off: Familiarize yourself with the location and operation of the emergency shut-off switch.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the generator during operation.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear appropriate PPE, such as hearing protection, when operating the generator.

Fuel Safety

  • Gasoline is Flammable: Gasoline is highly flammable and its vapors are explosive. Handle fuel with extreme care.
  • Refueling: Always turn off the generator and allow it to cool before refueling. Do not refuel while the engine is running or hot.
  • Spills: Clean up any spilled fuel immediately.
  • Storage: Store gasoline in approved containers in a well-ventilated area, away from ignition sources.

Electrical Safety

  • Grounding: Ensure the generator is properly grounded before use to prevent electric shock.
  • Overload Protection: Do not overload the generator. Use appropriate circuit breakers and fuses.
  • Wet Conditions: Never operate the generator in wet conditions, rain, or snow. Keep hands dry when handling electrical components.
  • Extension Cords: Use only heavy-duty, outdoor-rated extension cords that are in good condition and have sufficient gauge for the load.
  • Backfeeding: Never connect the generator directly to your home's electrical system without a proper transfer switch installed by a qualified electrician. Backfeeding can cause electrocution to utility workers.

4. Setup and First Use

Before operating your Toyama TG8000CXER generator, follow these steps for proper setup.

4.1 Unpacking and Inspection

  • Carefully remove the generator from its packaging.
  • Inspect the unit for any shipping damage. If damage is found, contact your dealer immediately.
  • Ensure all included components are present.

4.2 Wheel Assembly (if not pre-assembled)

  • Attach the wheels to the generator frame using the provided hardware (axles, washers, cotter pins).
  • Securely fasten all components to ensure stability.

4.3 Adding Engine Oil

  • Place the generator on a level surface.
  • Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick.
  • Add the recommended type and amount of engine oil (refer to the engine oil specifications, typically 10W-30 or 10W-40 for general use, check the engine manual for precise recommendations) until it reaches the "FULL" mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
  • Securely replace the oil fill cap.

4.4 Adding Fuel

  • Ensure the generator is turned off and cool.
  • Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher.
  • Open the fuel tank cap.
  • Carefully pour gasoline into the fuel tank, avoiding spills. Do not fill to the very top; leave some space for expansion.
  • Securely replace the fuel tank cap.

4.5 Battery Connection (for Electric Start models)

  • Locate the battery compartment.
  • Connect the positive (+) battery cable (red) to the positive (+) terminal on the battery.
  • Connect the negative (-) battery cable (black) to the negative (-) terminal on the battery.
  • Ensure connections are tight and secure.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to safely start and operate your generator.

5.1 Pre-Start Checklist

  • Generator is on a level surface.
