Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the UBay Replacement Remote Control, designed for use with various BOLVA TV models. This remote is pre-programmed and requires no additional setup or programming for compatible televisions.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

The remote control requires two (2) AA batteries (not included) for operation. Follow these steps to install the batteries:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
2. Slide the battery compartment cover downwards or outwards to open it.
3. Insert two AA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it back into position until it clicks securely.

Note: Always use new batteries and replace both batteries at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.

2. Initial Use

Once batteries are installed, the remote control is ready for immediate use with compatible BOLVA TV models. No programming or pairing is required.

Operating Instructions

Point the remote control directly at the infrared receiver on your BOLVA TV. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the TV.

Key Functions Overview

• Power Button (Red): Turns the TV on or off.
• Number Buttons (0-9): Directly select TV channels.
• VOL +/-: Adjusts the volume level.
• CH +/-: Changes TV channels sequentially.
• MUTE: Mutes or unmutes the TV audio.
• MENU: Accesses the TV's main menu.
• Navigation Buttons (Up, Down, Left, Right): Navigates through menus and options.
• ENTER: Confirms selections in menus.
• EXIT: Exits the current menu or function.
• RETURN: Returns to the previous screen or channel.
• INPUT: Selects the input source (e.g., HDMI 1, AV).
• DISPLAY: Shows on-screen information.
• GUIDE: Accesses the electronic program guide.
• PICTURE: Adjusts picture settings.
• ASPECT: Changes the screen aspect ratio.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

To clean the remote control, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, lightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild cleaning solution. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or alcohol, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.

2. Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Refer to the 'Battery Installation' section for detailed steps. Always dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.

3. Storage

When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage, which can damage the remote. Store the remote in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

Remote Not Responding

• Check Batteries: Ensure batteries are correctly installed with the correct polarity (+/-) and are not depleted. Replace with new AA batteries if necessary.
• Line of Sight: Make sure there are no obstructions between the remote control and the TV's infrared sensor.
• Distance: Ensure you are within the effective operating range of the TV's remote sensor.
• TV Power: Confirm that the TV is powered on and not in standby mode.

Specific Buttons Not Working

• If only certain buttons are unresponsive, try cleaning the remote as described in the Maintenance section.
