Setup

Connect the Mouse: Plug the USB connector of the ROCCAT Kova AIMO mouse into an available USB port on your computer.
Driver Installation: Your operating system should automatically detect and install basic drivers for the mouse. For full functionality and customization, it is recommended to download and install the ROCCAT Swarm software.
Install ROCCAT Swarm Software:
- Visit the official ROCCAT website (www.roccat.com/pages/software) to download the latest version of the ROCCAT Swarm software.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
- Once installed, launch the ROCCAT Swarm software to configure your mouse settings, including DPI, button assignments, and AIMO illumination.

Operating the Mouse

Button Functions

The ROCCAT Kova AIMO features a total of 10 programmable buttons, including the main left and right click buttons, a 2D Titan Wheel, and four side buttons (two on each side). Through the ROCCAT Swarm software, these buttons can be assigned various functions, macros, and hotkeys.

Easy-Shift[+]™ Technology

The Kova AIMO utilizes ROCCAT's Easy-Shift[+]™ technology, which allows you to assign a secondary function to almost every button on the mouse. By holding down the Easy-Shift[+]™ button (default is typically one of the side buttons), all other buttons gain a second function, effectively doubling the number of available commands. This feature is highly customizable within the Swarm software.

DPI Adjustment

The mouse features adjustable DPI (Dots Per Inch) settings, allowing you to change cursor sensitivity on the fly. Default DPI stages can be configured in the ROCCAT Swarm software, enabling quick switching between precision aiming and rapid movement. The Kova AIMO offers "double-powered DPI" for enhanced precision.

AIMO Illumination

The AIMO intelligent lighting system provides dynamic, reactive illumination that adapts to your usage and other AIMO-compatible ROCCAT devices. You can customize lighting effects, colors, and brightness through the Swarm software. The Kova AIMO features multiple illumination zones for a vibrant display.

Maintenance

Cleaning: Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the surface of the mouse. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents, as these can damage the mouse's finish.
Sensor Care: Keep the optical sensor on the underside of the mouse clean and free from dust or debris to ensure optimal tracking performance.
Cable Management: Avoid sharp bends or excessive pulling on the mouse cable to prevent damage.

Troubleshooting

Problem	Possible Solution
Mouse not responding	Ensure the USB cable is securely plugged into a working USB port. Try a different USB port on your computer. Restart your computer. Check the ROCCAT Swarm software for any error messages or updates.
Cursor movement is erratic or jumpy	Clean the optical sensor on the underside of the mouse. Ensure you are using the mouse on a clean, uniform surface (e.g., a mouse pad). Adjust DPI settings in the ROCCAT Swarm software.
Buttons are not working or double-clicking	Ensure the ROCCAT Swarm software is updated to the latest version. Reset button assignments to default in Swarm and reconfigure. If the issue persists, it may indicate a hardware fault. Contact ROCCAT support.
AIMO illumination is not working	Check illumination settings in the ROCCAT Swarm software. Ensure the Swarm software is running and updated. Verify that AIMO is enabled for the device.
