Important Safeguards

Setup

1. Before first use, wash the jar, lid, and blade assembly in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
2. Place the blender base on a clean, dry, and level surface.
3. Ensure the blade assembly is securely seated in the bottom of the glass jar.
4. Place the glass jar onto the blender base, ensuring it is properly aligned and seated. The blender will not operate if the jar is not correctly positioned.
5. Plug the blender into a standard electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

Your Hamilton Beach Blender is designed for efficient blending with its 850-watt motor and Wave~Action System.

1. Add Ingredients: Place desired ingredients into the glass jar. For best results, add liquids first, then soft ingredients, and finally hard or frozen ingredients. Do not overfill past the maximum fill line.
2. Secure Lid: Place the lid firmly onto the jar. Ensure the filler cap is also securely in place. The blender will not operate if the lid is not properly secured.
3. Select Function: Press the ON/OFF button to power on the blender. Choose one of the 5 blending functions:
   • AUTO SMOOTHIE: For perfect, consistent smoothies. This program automatically pulses to crush ice, mixes on low, then ramps to high to finish.
   • ICY DRINK: Ideal for frozen beverages and cocktails.
   • ICE CRUSH: Specifically designed for crushing ice cubes.
   • PULSE/PUREE: Provides short bursts of power for controlled blending or pureeing.
   • CLEAN: For quick and easy cleaning of the jar.
4. Start Blending: Press the desired function button. The blender will begin operation.
5. Monitor Blending: The patented Wave~Action System continuously forces ingredients down into the blades for ultra-smooth results. If ingredients get stuck, use the PULSE function or turn off the blender, remove the lid, and use a spatula to push ingredients down.
6. Stop Blending: Press the STOP button or the ON/OFF button to turn off the blender.
7. Serve: Carefully remove the lid and pour your blended creation.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Proper cleaning ensures the longevity and hygiene of your blender.

1. Unplug: Always unplug the blender from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
2. Quick Clean Function: For a fast clean, add 2 cups of warm water and a drop of dish soap to the jar. Secure the lid and press the CLEAN button. Run for 30 seconds, then rinse thoroughly.
3. Dishwasher Safe Parts: The glass jar and lid are dishwasher safe (top rack recommended).
4. Hand Washing: For hand washing, carefully disassemble the jar, blade assembly, and lid. Wash with warm, soapy water. Use caution when handling the sharp blades. Rinse and dry all parts thoroughly.
5. Clean Base: Wipe the blender base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base in water or any other liquid.
6. Storage: Store the blender with the lid slightly ajar to prevent odors.
