Safety Information
Please read and understand all safety instructions before installing or operating the sprinkler timer. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or property damage.
- This timer is designed for indoor use only. Do not install it outdoors or in areas exposed to rain or direct moisture.
- Ensure the power supply is disconnected before performing any wiring or maintenance.
- All electrical connections must comply with local codes and regulations. If unsure, consult a qualified electrician.
- Do not attempt to repair or modify the timer. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- Keep the timer away from children and pets.
Setup
1. Mounting the Timer
- Choose a suitable indoor location near a standard electrical outlet, protected from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Use the two keyhole slots on the back of the timer as a template to mark the mounting screw locations on the wall.
- Install two screws (not included) into the wall, leaving approximately 1/8 inch (3 mm) of the screw head exposed.
- Hang the timer on the screws, then slide it down to secure it.
2. Wiring the Sprinkler Valves
The Orbit 94884 features convenient toolless 'push-in' terminals for easy and secure wire connections. Ensure power is disconnected before wiring.

Figure 2: Internal view of the Orbit 94884 Sprinkler Timer showing the wiring terminals for sprinkler valves, common wire, and sensor.
- Locate the wiring compartment at the bottom of the timer.
- Each sprinkler valve has two wires. Connect one wire from each valve to the common (COM) terminal. The common terminal is typically labeled and may be a different color (e.g., white or blue).
- Connect the remaining wire from each valve to its corresponding station terminal (1, 2, 3, 4). For example, connect the wire for Zone 1 to terminal 1, Zone 2 to terminal 2, and so on.
- If you have a pump start relay or master valve, connect one wire from it to the "PUMP" or "MV" terminal (if available, otherwise use a standard station terminal if configured as such). Connect the other wire to the common (COM) terminal.
- To insert a wire, simply push it firmly into the designated terminal opening until it clicks into place. To remove, press the small tab next to the terminal and pull the wire out.
3. Connecting Power
Plug the timer's power cord into a standard 230V AC electrical outlet. The LCD display should illuminate, indicating power is supplied.
