2. Safety Instructions
Important Safety Precautions:
- Always plug the iron into a grounded outlet.
- Do not leave the iron unattended while it is connected to the mains.
- Keep the iron and its cord out of reach of children.
- Do not immerse the iron in water or any other liquid.
- Unplug the iron before filling with water, cleaning, or after each use.
- Use the iron only for its intended purpose.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
3. Setup
Before first use, remove any labels or protective covers from the soleplate.
3.1 Filling the Water Tank
- Ensure the iron is unplugged.
- Open the water tank filler cap.
- Fill the water tank with clean tap water up to the 'MAX' level indicator. Do not overfill.
- Close the filler cap securely.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Powering On and Temperature Setting
- Plug the iron into a suitable electrical outlet.
- Turn the temperature dial to the desired setting according to the fabric type. The indicator light will illuminate.
- Wait for the indicator light to turn off, indicating the iron has reached the set temperature.
4.2 Steam Ironing
- Ensure the water tank is filled.
- Select the appropriate steam setting using the steam control knob.
- For a burst of steam, press the steam shot button.

4.3 Dry Ironing
For dry ironing, ensure the steam control is set to the 'no steam' position.
4.4 Vertical Steaming
The iron can be used for vertical steaming of hanging garments. Hold the iron vertically and press the steam shot button.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning the Soleplate
The Durilium Autoclean soleplate is designed for easy cleaning. If necessary, wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth after the iron has cooled down.
5.2 Descaling (Micro-Calc Filter)
The Tefal Ultimate Pure FV9835 features a Micro-Calc Filter to prevent limescale build-up. Regularly remove and clean the filter as per the instructions below:
- Ensure the iron is unplugged and completely cool.
- Locate the Micro-Calc Filter cartridge, usually at the rear of the iron.
- Remove the filter by pulling it out.
- Rinse the filter under running water to remove any calc deposits.
- Reinsert the clean filter back into the iron until it clicks into place.

5.3 Storage
After use, unplug the iron and allow it to cool completely. Empty any remaining water from the tank. Store the iron upright in a safe, dry place.

6. Troubleshooting
