- HDMI IN: HDMI input port for connecting your video source (e.g., camera, media player).
- AUDIO IN: 3.5mm audio jack for external analog audio input.
- LAN: RJ45 Ethernet port for network connection.
3. Setup
3.1 Physical Connections
- Connect your HDMI video source to the HDMI IN port on the encoder using an HDMI cable.
- (Optional) If using external audio, connect your audio source to the AUDIO IN (3.5mm) jack.
- Connect the LAN port of the encoder to your network router or switch using an Ethernet cable.
- Connect the 12V power adapter to the DC 12V port and plug it into a power outlet. The device will power on automatically.
3.2 Network Configuration
The encoder is typically configured via a web-based interface. Ensure your computer is on the same local network as the encoder.
- Identify IP Address:
- The encoder usually obtains an IP address automatically via DHCP. You can find its IP address using a network scanner tool or by checking your router's connected devices list.
- Alternatively, some models may have a default static IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.168). Refer to the sticker on the device or packaging for specific default IP information if DHCP is not used.
- Access Web Interface: Open a web browser on your computer and enter the encoder's IP address in the address bar.
- Login: Enter the default username and password (typically
adminfor both). It is recommended to change these credentials after initial setup for security.
3.3 Connection Diagrams

Figure 3.1: Diagram illustrating a typical live broadcast setup. An HDMI source (e.g., broadcast camera, director station, conference camera) connects to the URayCoder Video Encoder. The encoder then sends video streams via a router/switch to the internet, allowing streaming to platforms like OBS, Livestream, Twitch, YouTube, Vimeo, vMix, and Ustream.

Figure 3.2: Diagram illustrating remote video transmission. An HDMI source connects to the URayCoder Video Encoder. The encoder sends video streams over a LAN/WAN via a router/switch. These streams can be received by devices like laptops, tablets, or phones, or by a URayCoder Decoder connected to a display monitor.
4. Operating Instructions
Once logged into the web interface, you can configure various settings for your video and audio streams.
4.1 Device Status Monitoring
The "Status" page provides real-time information about the encoder's operation, including running time, CPU usage, memory usage, video/audio status, and network packet statistics.

Figure 4.1: Partial screenshot of the device status page, displaying operational metrics and stream URLs.
4.2 Video Settings
Navigate to the "Encoder" section, then "Main Stream" or "Substream" to configure video parameters.

Figure 4.2: Partial screenshot of the video settings page, showing options for encoding type (H.265/H.264), encoded size, FPS, GOP, bitrate control, and image quality range.
- Encoding Type: Select H.265 or H.264. H.265 offers better compression efficiency.
- Encoded Size: Choose the output resolution (e.g., 1920x1080, 1280x720).
- FPS (Frames Per Second): Set the frame rate (e.g., 30, 60).
- Bitrate: Adjust the video bitrate (in kbps) to balance quality and bandwidth usage. Higher bitrate means higher quality but requires more bandwidth.
- Image Quality Range: Fine-tune the visual quality.
4.3 Audio Settings
Access the "Audio" section to configure audio input and encoding.

Figure 4.3: Partial screenshot of the audio settings page, showing options for audio input (Digital/Analog), sampling rate, encoder type (AAC, MP3), audio channel, bitrate, and digital volume gain.

Figure 4.4: Close-up view illustrating the HDMI audio input and the 3.5mm line-in audio input options.
- Audio Input: Select "Digital" for HDMI embedded audio or "Analog" for 3.5mm line-in.
- Sampling Rate: Typically 44100 Hz or 48000 Hz.
- Encoder: Choose AAC for general streaming compatibility.
- Bitrate: Adjust audio bitrate (e.g., 64kbps, 128kbps).
- Digital Volume Gain: Adjust audio input level.
4.4 On-Screen Display (OSD) Configuration
The "OSD" section allows you to add text, scrolling captions, and logos to your video stream.

Figure 4.5: Partial screenshot of the OSD settings page, demonstrating options for adding text overlays, adjusting position, font size, background, and font color.
