1. Introduction and Safety Instructions
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your Nespresso De'Longhi Lattissima One EN500B coffee machine. Please read all instructions carefully before first use and retain this manual for future reference.
Important Safety Precautions:
- Always connect the machine to a grounded power outlet.
- Do not immerse the machine, power cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
- Keep children away from the machine during operation. Hot water and steam can cause burns.
- Unplug the machine before cleaning and when not in use for extended periods.
- Do not operate the machine if the power cord or plug is damaged.
- Use only Nespresso capsules in this machine.
2. Machine Components Overview

3. Initial Setup and First Use
3.1 Unpacking
- Remove the machine from its packaging.
- Remove all protective films and stickers.
- Place the machine on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from water splashes and heat sources.
3.2 Rinsing and Priming
Before first use, or after a long period of non-use, the machine must be rinsed and primed.
- Fill the water tank with fresh drinking water.
- Place a container (minimum 0.5 L) under the coffee outlet.
- Plug the machine into a power outlet. All three beverage buttons will flash.
- Press any of the three beverage buttons. The machine will start rinsing, dispensing water through the coffee outlet.
- The rinsing process will stop automatically. The buttons will stop flashing and remain steady, indicating the machine is ready.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Preparing Espresso or Lungo

- Ensure the water tank is filled with fresh water.
- Lift the lever completely and insert a Nespresso capsule.
- Close the lever.
- Place a cup under the coffee outlet.
- Press the Espresso button (small cup icon) for a 40 ml serving or the Lungo button (large cup icon) for a 110 ml serving.
- The coffee preparation will start and stop automatically.
4.2 Preparing Milk-Based Recipes (Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato)
The Lattissima One EN500B features an automatic milk system for single-serve milk recipes.
- Fill the milk jug with the desired amount of fresh cold milk up to the indicated level for your chosen recipe.
- Attach the milk jug to the machine's milk frother connection.
- Lift the lever and insert a Nespresso capsule. Close the lever.
- Place a suitable cup under the milk spout and coffee outlet.
- Press the Milk Recipe button (milk cup icon). The machine will automatically froth the milk and then brew the coffee.
- The preparation will stop automatically.
4.3 Programming Cup Sizes
You can customize the volume for Espresso, Lungo, and Milk Recipe buttons.
- For Espresso/Lungo: Insert a capsule, place a cup. Press and hold the desired button (Espresso or Lungo). Release the button when the desired volume is reached. The new volume is now saved.
- For Milk Recipe: Fill the milk jug with milk, insert a capsule, place a cup. Press and hold the Milk Recipe button. Release the button when the desired milk volume is reached. The machine will then automatically brew the coffee. The new milk volume is saved.
5. Cleaning and Maintenance
5.1 Daily Cleaning
- Milk System: After each milk preparation, detach the milk jug. The milk jug components are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, rinse them thoroughly under running water.

- Drip Tray and Used Capsule Container: Empty and rinse daily.
- Machine Exterior: Wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents.
5.2 Descaling
The 'Descaling' indicator light will illuminate when descaling is required. Regular descaling ensures optimal machine performance and coffee quality.
- Refer to the full descaling instructions provided in the separate descaling kit or on the Nespresso website.
- Use only the Nespresso descaling solution.
- The descaling process typically involves filling the water tank with descaling solution and water, then running cycles through the machine.
- After descaling, rinse the machine thoroughly with fresh water.
6. Troubleshooting
