3. Setup and Assembly
The Hydrobot Arm Kit requires assembly. Follow the detailed, animated instructions provided in the included manual. The assembly process involves connecting various mechanical and hydraulic components to form the robotic arm and its control base. Pay close attention to the diagrams and ensure all connections are secure.

Hydraulic System Setup
The Hydrobot Arm is powered by water hydraulics. During assembly, you will connect the hydraulic cylinders to the control levers and the arm segments. Ensure all tubing is properly connected and free of kinks. Bleed each cylinder and water line carefully to remove air bubbles, which is crucial for optimal performance.

4. Operating Instructions
The Hydrobot Arm is controlled using a series of levers on the control base. Each lever corresponds to a specific movement of the arm, such as gripper action, wrist rotation, elbow movement, shoulder movement, and base rotation.
Controlling Movement
- Gripper Control: Use the designated lever to open and close the gripper. The gripper can open up to 47mm (1.89 in.) and has a lifting capacity of 50g.
- Wrist Rotation: A lever controls the wrist joint's 180-degree rotation.
- Wrist Mobility: Another lever allows for 98 degrees of wrist joint mobility.
- Elbow Joint: Control the elbow joint's 44-degree range of motion.
- Shoulder Joint: Adjust the shoulder joint with 45 degrees of motion.
- Base Rotation: The arm's base can rotate 270 degrees for wide reach.
The lever controllers feature a special braking system to assist in achieving fine, accurate tasks. Practice using each lever individually and in combination to master the arm's movements.

Suction Cup Attachment
The gripper can be removed and replaced with a suction cup component (if included) to pick up objects with smooth surface areas. Ensure the object does not exceed 50g (1.75 oz.) when using the suction cup.

5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your Hydrobot Arm Kit, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe down the robot arm and control base with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Water Management: Periodically check the hydraulic system for water levels and refill as needed. Ensure no leaks are present.
- Storage: When not in use, store the kit in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Component Check: Regularly inspect all parts for wear and tear. Replace any damaged components to maintain optimal performance.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Hydrobot Arm Kit, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Arm not moving smoothly or with full range:
- Check for air bubbles in the hydraulic lines. Re-bleed the system if necessary.
- Ensure all hydraulic tubes are securely connected and not kinked or pinched.
- Verify that the water levels in the cylinders are adequate.
- Gripper not holding objects:
- Ensure the gripper mechanism is fully assembled and free of obstructions.
- Check the hydraulic line connected to the gripper for proper function.
- Leaking hydraulic fluid (water):
- Inspect all connection points for loose fittings. Tighten as needed.
- Check for cracks or damage in the hydraulic cylinders or tubing.
For persistent issues, please contact customer support.
