Setup Instructions
1. Battery Installation
The Rapoo M500 mouse comes with 2 AA batteries pre-installed. The USB dongle is also stored within the battery compartment for convenience.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the underside of the mouse.
- Slide or lift the cover to open the compartment.
- Ensure the 2 AA batteries are correctly inserted according to the polarity markings (+/-).
- If using the 2.4GHz wireless connection, remove the USB dongle from its storage slot.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
2. Connecting Your Mouse
The Rapoo M500 supports multi-device connectivity via Bluetooth 3.0, Bluetooth 4.0, and a 2.4GHz USB dongle.

2.1. 2.4GHz Wireless Connection (USB Dongle)
- Turn on the mouse using the power switch located on the underside.
- Insert the USB dongle into an available USB port on your computer.
- The computer should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers. The mouse will be ready for use.
2.2. Bluetooth Connection (Bluetooth 3.0 / 4.0)
- Turn on the mouse using the power switch on the underside.
- Press the device switch button (usually on the top or bottom of the mouse) to select a Bluetooth channel (e.g., B1 or B2). The indicator light will blink slowly.
- Press and hold the device switch button for approximately 3 seconds until the indicator light starts blinking rapidly. This indicates the mouse is in pairing mode.
- On your device (computer, tablet, smartphone), go to Bluetooth settings and search for new devices.
- Select "Rapoo M500" or a similar name from the list of available devices to pair.
- Once paired, the indicator light on the mouse will stop blinking and remain solid for a few seconds before turning off.

1. Button Functions

- Left Click Button: Primary selection and activation.
- Right Click Button: Accesses contextual menus.
- DPI Switch Button: Adjusts cursor sensitivity.
- Scroll Wheel: Navigates vertically through documents and web pages.
- Forward Button: Navigates forward in web browsers or file explorers.
- Backward Button: Navigates backward in web browsers or file explorers.
2. DPI Adjustment
The Rapoo M500 features 4 adjustable DPI levels (600/1000/1300/1600) to suit your preference for cursor speed and precision.

To change the DPI setting, press the DPI Switch Button located on the top of the mouse, below the scroll wheel. Each press will cycle through the available DPI levels.
3. Multi-Device Switching
The mouse allows quick switching between up to 3 connected devices (2 Bluetooth, 1 2.4GHz USB dongle).
To switch between devices, simply short press the device switch button. The indicator light will show which channel is active.

Maintenance
1. Battery Replacement
The mouse is powered by 2 AA alkaline batteries, which can last up to 12 months under typical usage. When the mouse performance degrades or the indicator light signals low battery, it's time to replace them.
- Turn off the mouse using the power switch.
- Open the battery compartment cover on the underside.
- Remove the old AA batteries.
- Insert two new AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment cover.
- Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
2. Cleaning
To maintain optimal performance and appearance, clean your mouse periodically.
- Ensure the mouse is turned off before cleaning.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or spraying liquids directly onto the mouse.
- Clean the optical sensor on the underside with a dry cotton swab if tracking issues occur.
