Important Safety Instructions

Setup
Powering the Unit
The Lenco SCD-971 can be powered by either AC power or batteries, offering flexibility for both home and portable use.
AC Power Connection:

Battery Operation:
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.
- Insert 6 x C-size (UM-2) batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
- When operating on batteries, disconnect the AC power cord.
Note: Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage and damage.

CD Player Operation
- Press the STANDBY button to turn on the unit.
- Set the FUNCTION selector to "CD".
- Open the CD compartment door by gently lifting it.
- Place a CD with the label side facing up onto the spindle.
- Close the CD compartment door firmly until it clicks. The display will show "---" then the total number of tracks.
- Press the PLAY/PAUSE button (►/▮▮) to start playback. The current track number will be displayed.
- To pause, press PLAY/PAUSE. Press again to resume.
- To stop playback, press the STOP button (■).
- To skip tracks, press NEXT (►►|) or BACK (◀◀|).
- To search within a track, press and hold NEXT or BACK during playback.
Radio Operation
- Press the STANDBY button to turn on the unit.
- Set the FUNCTION selector to "RADIO".
- Extend the telescopic antenna for optimal FM reception.
- Rotate the TUNING knob to select your desired radio station. The frequency will be shown on the display.
- Adjust the VOLUME knob to your preferred listening level.
Cassette Player Operation
- Press the STANDBY button to turn on the unit.
- Set the FUNCTION selector to "TAPE".
- Press the STOP/EJECT button to open the cassette compartment door.
- Insert a cassette tape with the open edge facing upwards.
- Close the cassette compartment door.
- Press the PLAY button (►) to start playback.
- To stop playback, press the STOP/EJECT button.
- To fast forward, press the F-FWD button. Press PLAY to resume.
- To rewind, press the REW button. Press PLAY to resume.
- To pause playback, press the PAUSE button (▮▮). Press again to resume.

Maintenance
Cleaning the Unit
- Always unplug the unit from the power source before cleaning.
