Operating Instructions

Making Espresso (Ground Coffee)

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled and the machine is powered on and preheated.
  2. Select the appropriate filter basket (single or double shot) and place it into the filter holder.
  3. Add finely ground espresso coffee to the filter basket. For a single shot, use approximately 7g; for a double, use 14g.
  4. Lightly tamp the coffee grounds with a tamper to create an even, compact puck.
  5. Attach the filter holder to the brewing head by aligning it and twisting firmly to the right until secure.
  6. Place one or two espresso cups on the drip tray directly under the filter holder spouts.
  7. Press the desired coffee brewing button (single or double cup). The machine will start brewing.
  8. Once the desired amount of espresso is dispensed, press the button again to stop brewing.
  9. Carefully remove the filter holder by twisting it to the left. Dispose of the used coffee grounds.

Making Espresso (Coffee Capsules)

  1. Follow steps 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 from the "Making Espresso (Ground Coffee)" section.
  2. Instead of ground coffee, insert a compatible coffee capsule into the designated capsule filter basket.

Frothing Milk for Cappuccino and Latte

  1. Ensure the machine is powered on and preheated.
  2. Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to about one-third full.
  3. Turn the steam control knob to the steam position. Wait for the steam indicator light to illuminate, indicating the machine has reached steaming temperature.
  4. Purge the steam wand briefly into the drip tray to remove any condensed water. Turn the steam knob off.
  5. Immerse the tip of the steam wand just below the surface of the milk.
  6. Slowly turn the steam control knob to the ON position.
  7. Angle the pitcher to create a swirling motion in the milk. Keep the steam wand tip near the surface to create foam, then lower it slightly to heat the milk.
  8. Once the milk has reached the desired temperature (around 60-70°C or when the pitcher is too hot to touch comfortably) and consistency, turn the steam control knob to the OFF position.
  9. Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.
  10. Pour the frothed milk over your freshly brewed espresso to create a cappuccino or latte.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your espresso machine and ensure consistent coffee quality.

Daily Cleaning

  • Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray after each use or when the indicator floats up.
  • Filter Holder and Baskets: After each use, remove the filter holder, discard coffee grounds, and rinse the filter holder and basket under running water.
  • Steam Wand: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth. Purge a small amount of steam to clear any milk residue from inside the wand.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

Weekly Cleaning

  • Water Tank: Remove and thoroughly clean the water tank with warm soapy water. Rinse well and refill with fresh water.
  • Shower Screen: Periodically, use a brush to clean the shower screen located in the brewing head to remove any coffee residue.

Descaling

Depending on water hardness and frequency of use, descaling should be performed every 2-3 months to prevent mineral buildup.

  1. Prepare a descaling solution according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Fill the water tank with the descaling solution.
  3. Place a large container under the filter holder and steam wand.
  4. Turn on the machine and allow it to heat up.
  5. Run about half of the descaling solution through the coffee brewing cycle (without coffee).
  6. Open the steam knob to release steam through the steam wand until about half of the remaining solution has passed through.
  7. Turn off the machine and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
  8. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until all the descaling solution has been used.
  9. Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water.
  10. Run several full tanks of fresh water through both the coffee brewing cycle and the steam wand to thoroughly rinse out any descaling solution.
