Setup
1. Battery Installation
The remote control requires two (2) AAA batteries (not included) for operation. Follow these steps to install the batteries:
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
- Press down on the tab and slide the cover off.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align with the markings inside the compartment.
- Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks securely.
Note: Always replace both batteries at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.
2. Initial Use and Device Compatibility
This UpStart Components remote is designed as a direct replacement and is often ready for use with compatible devices immediately after battery installation. No complex programming is typically required for its primary function as a replacement for RCA 3-Device Universal Remote Controls.
For specific compatibility, such as with Amino Cable Boxes, the remote is designed to work with devices that respond to common RCA universal remote codes, including 1602 and 1822. If the remote does not operate your device directly, please ensure your device is compatible with RCA universal remote codes. Refer to your original device's manual for specific programming instructions if advanced setup or code entry is required for non-standard devices, though this remote is primarily plug-and-play for its intended replacements.
