5. Setup and First Use

5.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Carefully remove the oven and all accessories from the packaging.
  2. Remove any packing materials, stickers, or protective films from the oven.
  3. Place the oven on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation space (at least 10-15 cm) around all sides of the oven for proper air circulation.
  4. Do not place the oven near flammable materials or directly under a cabinet that could be damaged by heat.

5.2 Before First Use

  1. Wash the wire rack, bake tray, rotisserie spit, and handles in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  2. Wipe the interior and exterior of the oven with a damp cloth.
  3. Plug the oven into a grounded electrical outlet (220-240V~50/60Hz).
  4. To eliminate any manufacturing odors, operate the oven empty for approximately 15 minutes at the maximum temperature (230°C) using the 'Both Heat' function. Ensure the area is well-ventilated during this process. A slight odor or smoke is normal during initial use.
  5. Allow the oven to cool completely before its first cooking use.

The Mayer MMO40D Electric Oven offers various functions for diverse cooking requirements.

6.1 Basic Operation

  1. Place Food: Place your food on the wire rack or bake tray, then insert it into the desired rack position inside the oven.
  2. Set Temperature: Turn the 'Upper Temp' and/or 'Bottom Temp' knobs to select the desired cooking temperature (60 - 230 °C). The real-time temperature display will show the current temperature.
  3. Select Function: Turn the 'Function' knob to choose the appropriate cooking mode. Options include:
    • Top Heat
    • Bottom Heat
    • Both Heat (Top and Bottom)
    • Convection (Fan-assisted cooking for even heat distribution)
    • Rotisserie (for roasting meats on a spit)
    • Combinations of heating elements with convection or rotisserie.
  4. Set Timer: Turn the 'Timer' knob to set the cooking duration, up to 180 minutes. The oven will begin heating once the timer is set. The power indicator light will illuminate.
  5. Monitoring: The internal oven light allows you to monitor cooking progress without opening the door.
  6. Completion: The oven will automatically turn off when the timer reaches zero, and a bell will sound.
