The Tilta Dovetail features a unique track in which camera systems using Tilta Baseplates can slide and lock onto in various positions. This allows you greater flexibility when balancing your camera system on a tripod head for precise and easy operating. The featured safety pin provides additional security which is especially important when extra assurance is needed such as when rigging overhead. When paired with our Dovetail Shoulder Rig, this plate allows you to quickly swap between locked off and shoulder mounted handheld shots. The Tilta Standard Dovetail is a lightweight, low profile option that perfectly complements our Tiltaing and Tilta Standard Baseplates.

2. Attach to Support System: Secure the dovetail plate to your desired support system using appropriate screws (not included, typically provided with the support system). Ensure the plate is firmly attached and does not wobble.
3. Prepare Camera System: If using a Tilta Baseplate with your camera, ensure it is ready to slide onto the dovetail plate.
4. Mount Camera System: Slide your camera system (with Tilta Baseplate) onto the dovetail plate. The unique track allows for smooth movement.
5. Secure Camera System: Once the camera system is in the desired position for balance, use the baseplate stopper toggle and stopping screw to lock it securely in place.
6. Engage Safety Pin: For additional security, especially when rigging overhead or in dynamic setups, ensure the safety pin is engaged to prevent accidental dislodgement.

• Balancing Your Rig: Once your camera system is mounted, you can slide it along the dovetail track to achieve optimal balance on your tripod head or support system. This is crucial for smooth panning and tilting movements.
• Quick Swaps: When paired with a Tilta Dovetail Shoulder Rig (sold separately), this plate allows for rapid transitions between locked-off tripod shots and shoulder-mounted handheld operation. Simply unlatch from the tripod and attach to the shoulder rig.
• Secure Locking: Always ensure the baseplate stopper toggle and stopping screw are fully tightened after adjusting the camera's position to prevent any movement during operation.
