2. Programming the Remote Control
This universal remote can control up to three devices. To program the remote for your specific devices (e.g., TV, SAT/CBL/DTC, DVD/VCR), you will need to enter a 4-digit code. The remote includes a "CODE SEARCH" function to assist with this process.
Example for Sanyo TV: Use remote codes such as 0054 or 1142.
General Programming Steps (refer to your device's manual for specific codes if not listed here):
- Turn on the device you wish to control (e.g., your Sanyo TV).
- On the universal remote, press and hold the desired device button (e.g., TV, SAT-CBL-DTC, or DVD-VCR) for approximately 3 seconds until the indicator light (usually the POWER button) illuminates.
- While holding the device button, enter the 4-digit code for your device (e.g., 0054 for Sanyo TV).
- Release the device button. The indicator light should turn off, indicating the code has been accepted.
- Test the remote by pressing the POWER button. If the device turns off, the programming was successful.
- If the device does not respond, repeat the steps with a different code from your device's manual or use the Code Search method below.
3. Code Search Method
If you cannot find a suitable code, use the Code Search function:
- Turn on the device you wish to control.
- Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button until the indicator light illuminates.
- Press and release the desired device button (e.g., TV). The indicator light will blink once and then remain lit.
- Point the remote at the device and repeatedly press the POWER button (or CHAN+ for TVs) until the device turns off. Pause briefly between presses to allow the device to respond.
- Once the device turns off, immediately press the ENTER button to save the code. The indicator light will turn off.
- Test the remote's functions. If some functions do not work, you may need to repeat the Code Search process to find a more compatible code.
Operating the Remote Control
Once programmed, the remote control functions similarly to your original device remote. Ensure the remote is pointed directly at the device's infrared sensor.
