Setup
Initial Preparation:
- Add Engine Oil: Remove the oil fill cap/dipstick. Using the provided funnel, carefully add the recommended 10W-30 engine oil (0.4 qt / 0.38 L) until it reaches the upper mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
- Add Fuel: Ensure the generator is on a level surface. Open the fuel cap and fill the fuel tank with fresh, unleaded gasoline (minimum 87 octane). The tank capacity is 0.7 gallons. Do not overfill.
- Check Air Filter: Ensure the air filter is clean and properly installed.
Placement:
Always place the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, away from windows, doors, and vents to prevent carbon monoxide accumulation. Maintain at least 5 feet (1.5 meters) of clearance from buildings and other equipment.
Operating Instructions
Starting the Generator:
- Ensure all electrical devices are disconnected from the generator.
- Turn the fuel valve to the "ON" position.
- Set the engine switch to "ON".
- If the engine is cold, pull the choke knob out. If warm, leave it in.
- Firmly pull the recoil starter handle until the engine starts.
- Once the engine starts, slowly push the choke knob back in (if used).
Connecting Devices:
Once the generator is running and the "Output Ready" indicator light is green, you can connect your electrical devices to the appropriate outlets (AC or USB). Do not exceed the generator's running wattage (1200W).

Eco Mode (Low Idle Technology):
Engage the "Low Idle" switch to activate Eco Mode. This feature automatically adjusts engine speed to match the load, improving fuel efficiency and reducing noise levels when less power is required.
Parallel Operation:
The SUA1500i is parallel capable. To connect two identical SUA1500i units for increased power, use the included parallel cable and follow the specific instructions in the manual for parallel connection. This allows for combined output to power larger appliances.
Stopping the Generator:
- Disconnect all electrical devices from the generator.
- Allow the generator to run for a few minutes without load to cool down.
- Set the engine switch to "OFF".
- Turn the fuel valve to the "OFF" position.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your generator. Always refer to the detailed maintenance schedule in the full user manual.
Recommended Maintenance Schedule:
- Every Use: Check engine oil level.
- Every 25 Hours or Annually: Change engine oil.
- Every 50 Hours or Annually: Clean/inspect air filter.
- Every 100 Hours or Annually: Inspect spark plug, clean spark arrestor.
- Every 200 Hours or Annually: Inspect fuel filter, valve clearance.
Oil Change:
To change the engine oil, ensure the engine is warm. Place a drain pan beneath the oil drain plug, remove the plug, and allow the oil to drain completely. Reinstall the drain plug, then refill with fresh 10W-30 oil as per initial setup instructions.
Air Filter:
Remove the air filter cover and clean the foam element with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely. Apply a small amount of clean engine oil to the foam, then squeeze out any excess. Reinstall the air filter.
Spark Plug:
Inspect the spark plug for wear or fouling. Clean or replace as necessary. Ensure the correct gap is maintained according to specifications.
Storage:
For long-term storage, drain the fuel tank and carburetor. Add a fuel stabilizer if storing with fuel. Change the engine oil. Clean the generator thoroughly. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area.
Troubleshooting
This section provides solutions to common operational issues. For more complex problems, contact customer support.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Engine will not start | No fuel, low oil, choke not set, old fuel, spark plug issue. | Add fresh fuel, check oil level, adjust choke, replace fuel, inspect/replace spark plug. |
| No power output | Overload, circuit breaker tripped, Eco Mode engaged (low load). | Reduce load, reset circuit breaker, disengage Eco Mode if full power is needed. |
| Engine runs rough | Stale fuel, dirty air filter, fouled spark plug. | Drain/replace fuel, clean/replace air filter, clean/replace spark plug. |
| CO Sensor light on / Auto-shutdown | High carbon monoxide levels detected. | Move generator to a more open, well-ventilated outdoor area immediately. Allow to cool before restarting. |
