WORX 40V Power Share Hydroshot Portable Power Cleaner User Manual

Model: WG644

Brand: WORX

1. Introduction

The WORX 40V Power Share Hydroshot Portable Power Cleaner (Model WG644) is a versatile and powerful cleaning solution. Designed for portability and ease of use, it provides 7 times more pressure than a standard garden hose, making it effective for a variety of cleaning tasks around the home, garden, and even on the go. Its battery-powered design eliminates the need for a constant water connection, allowing you to draw water from any fresh source.

Key Features:

  • 7X More Pressure: Delivers up to 450 PSI for effective cleaning, significantly more powerful than a standard garden hose.
  • 2-Speed Settings: Choose between 450 PSI for tough jobs or 290 PSI to conserve water and battery for lighter tasks.
  • Power Share Compatibility: Utilizes WORX 20V and 40V Power Share batteries, allowing for interchangeable use with other WORX tools.
  • 4-in-1 Multi-Spray Nozzle: Easily switch between 0°, 15°, 25°, and 40° spray patterns for different applications.
  • On-Board Battery Charge Indicator: Provides real-time battery status to help manage power usage.

3. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Hydroshot for first use:

  1. Charge Batteries: Insert both 20V Lithium Batteries into the Dual Port Charger. Connect the charger to a power outlet. The indicator lights on the charger will show charging status. Ensure batteries are fully charged before first use.
  2. Install Batteries: Slide the charged batteries into the battery slots on the Hydroshot unit until they click securely into place.
  3. Attach Cleaning Lance: Align the 4-in-1 Cleaning Lance with the front of the Hydroshot unit. Push it in firmly and twist clockwise until it locks securely.
  4. Connect Water Source: You have two options for water supply:
    • Garden Hose: Attach the Quick-Connect Adapter to your garden hose. Then, connect the adapter to the water inlet on the Hydroshot unit.
    • Draw Hose (Bucket/Lake): Connect the 20-foot Draw Hose to the water inlet on the Hydroshot unit. Place the filter end of the draw hose into a bucket of fresh water or a natural freshwater source like a lake or river. Ensure the filter is fully submerged.
  5. Prime the System: Before operating, it's essential to prime the system to remove any air. Hold the Hydroshot below the water source level (if using the draw hose) and press the trigger until a steady stream of water emerges from the nozzle. This may take a few seconds.

4. Operating Instructions

Once set up, operating your Hydroshot is straightforward:

  1. Power On: Press the safety lock button located near the trigger, then squeeze the trigger to start the water flow. The unit will only activate when the trigger is pressed.
  2. Adjust Speed Setting: Use the high/low speed button on the top of the unit to switch between 450 PSI (High) for maximum cleaning power and 290 PSI (Low) for lighter tasks or to conserve battery and water.
  3. Select Spray Pattern: Rotate the front of the 4-in-1 Multi-Spray Nozzle to select your desired spray pattern (0°, 15°, 25°, or 40°). The 0° setting provides a concentrated stream, while the 40° setting offers a wider, gentler spray.
  4. Begin Cleaning: Direct the spray towards the surface you wish to clean, maintaining an appropriate distance based on the surface material and desired cleaning intensity.
  5. Monitor Battery: Keep an eye on the on-board battery charge indicator to know when it's time to recharge or swap batteries.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Hydroshot:

  • Clean Water Filter: Regularly inspect and clean the filter on the end of the 20-foot draw hose. Remove any debris or sediment to ensure unrestricted water flow.
  • Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Avoid fully discharging batteries before recharging. For long-term storage, charge batteries to about 50% capacity.
  • Unit Cleaning: After each use, rinse the Hydroshot unit and accessories with clean water. Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not submerge the main unit in water.
  • Winter Storage: If storing in freezing temperatures, ensure all water is drained from the unit and hoses to prevent damage from ice expansion.

6. Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their solutions:

  • No Water Flow / Low Pressure:
    • Ensure the water source is adequate and the draw hose filter is not clogged.
    • Check that the draw hose is fully submerged and not kinked.
    • Prime the system by holding the unit below the water source and pressing the trigger until water flows steadily.
    • Verify batteries are fully charged and properly seated.
    • Check the nozzle setting; a very wide spray (40°) will have less perceived pressure.
  • Unit Not Turning On:
    • Confirm batteries are charged and correctly inserted.
    • Ensure the safety lock button is disengaged before pressing the trigger.
  • Water Leaking:
    • Check all connections (lance, water inlet, quick-connect adapter) for tightness.
    • Inspect O-rings and seals for damage and replace if necessary.
