2. Device Programming (Code Entry)
This universal remote control can be programmed to operate various devices such as TVs, DVD players, and satellite/cable boxes. There are two primary methods for programming:
Manual Code Entry
This method requires you to enter a specific code for your device's brand.
- Turn on the device you wish to control (e.g., your television).
- Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button on the remote until the indicator light turns on.
- Press the device button you want to program (e.g., TV, SAT-CBL-DTC DVD-VCR). The indicator light will blink once and remain on.
- Enter the 4-digit code for your device brand using the number pad. (Refer to the code list provided with your physical remote, if applicable).
- If the code is accepted, the indicator light will turn off. Test the remote by pressing the POWER button. If the device turns off, the programming was successful.
- If the device does not respond, repeat the process with the next code listed for your brand.
Automatic Code Search
If you cannot find a code or prefer an automatic search:
- Turn on the device you wish to control.
- Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button until the indicator light turns on.
- Press the device button you want to program (e.g., TV). The indicator light will blink once and remain on.
- Point the remote at the device and repeatedly press the POWER button (or CHAN+ for channel search) until the device turns off.
- Once the device turns off, immediately press the ENTER button to save the code. The indicator light will turn off.
- Test the remote's functions. If not all functions work, repeat the search to find a better code.
