2. Initial Use and Programming

For many compatible RCA devices, this replacement remote may work immediately after battery installation without any programming. Simply install the batteries and test its functionality with your device.

If your device does not respond, or if you wish to program the remote for other compatible devices (TV, SAT/CBL/DTC, DVD/VCR), you may need to enter a specific code. The product is compatible with codes such as 0463, 0171, 1670, 1892, 1935. Please refer to your device's original manual for specific programming instructions or try the common methods below:

  3. While holding the device button, enter the 4-digit code for your device using the number buttons.
  4. Release the device button. The indicator light should turn off.
  5. Test the remote by pressing the POWER button. If the device turns off, the code was accepted. If not, repeat the process with another code from the list or consult your device's manual.

Code Search Method:

  1. Turn on the device you wish to control.
  2. Press and hold the desired device button (e.g., TV) and the CODE SEARCH button simultaneously until the indicator light turns on.

Maintenance

Cleaning:

To clean your remote control, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.

Battery Replacement:

Replace batteries when the remote's performance degrades or if the indicator light does not illuminate. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new AAA alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.

Storage:

Store the remote in a dry place away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. If the remote will not be used for an extended period, it is recommended to remove the batteries to prevent leakage.

Troubleshooting

  • Remote is not working:
    • Check if the batteries are installed correctly with the correct polarity.
    • Replace old batteries with new ones.
    • Ensure there is a clear line of sight between the remote and the device's sensor.
    • Verify that the remote is programmed correctly for the device you are trying to control. Re-attempt programming if necessary.
  • Device is not responding to all commands:
    • Some advanced functions may not be supported by all universal remote codes.
    • Ensure you have selected the correct device mode (TV, SAT-CBL-DTC, DVD-VCR) on the remote.
    • Try a different programming code for your device, if available.
  • Indicator light does not turn on:
    • This usually indicates dead or incorrectly installed batteries. Replace them.
